who's in?
maybe we should try and keep this to people who have wheeled there before...but as always, ride-alongs are encouraged and there's usually a few extra seats to be had

CheapJeep
09-28-2005, 11:29 PM
I'm down if anyone has an extra seat and doesn't mind me riding along. I'll be designated spotter/camera man. :gigem:

I got some work I have to do before I can wheel - fix ARB line & figure out why the pump died (prolly a fuse). & I would really like to do the rock lights, but that may have to wait. I'll probably have to finish Friday evening, which I thought would be ok since it doesn't even get dark until after 8 - this is NIGHT wheeling, right?

uglyota

That would work for me. Unless I get some help and we can work fast, I think the rocklights are going to have to wait - I have all that parts, but doub't I'll have the time. I also have to attempt a repair on my smooshed ARB Line

(BTW, I have finally decided to order some braided steel lines)

uglyota
09-30-2005, 11:29 AM
Braided steel ARB lines are straight bling. That'll suck when you rip them off :D

Cool, come on over after work - 7701 Gettysburg off Raintree (which is the same as SW Parkway on the other side of 6).

That goes for anybody that wants to come by. I am trying to get there by 5:30 or so.

welp, I broke some **** and will have pics up later but 47 was alot of fun and alot bigger than I expected. This trip had the least amount of Scotti trouble of any trip I've been on. That being said he blew 2 beads at one time and effed his driverside up.

I had an awesome time and I am no longer babying my shiznit. Amazing how body damage bumps up your confidence. We actually got a lot of wheeling in, especially when the groups got split up and we wheeled in small groups.

Body damage is cool but its even cooler to run hard trails unscathed :gigem:

Hmm, you've been blowing alot of beads lately. Maybe its time for beadlocks?

or run a little bit more air in your tire, remember you rig weighs quite a bit.

Yeah, I learned my lesson - I'm going to run at least 12psi & prolly 15 from now on. I think I am also going to try some redneck beadlocks (screws through the wheel).

I need to weigh it sometime, but it's around 4500lbs.

I have a feeling your going to find out its alot more than that. My little girl is in the 4 grand range...hefty little hoe.

Hey Coop', you ever gonna post up the pics you took? :flipoff2:

CRaSHnBuRN
10-01-2005, 03:56 PM
Yeah, I would be really surprised if the runner wieghed less than 5k. A SAS'ed single cab truck in mostly stock form weighs around 3300-4000. Add in all the extra body wieght, bumpers, steel wheels, heavy tires, roll cage, the domestic drive train, and other assorted parts, and the weight goes up quick. I've very rarely heard of a 2nd gen 4runner weighing less than around 5K, and I think yours would on the heavier side of the average.

As for the wheels, you're gonna do the beadlock screws?

what happened to piss the owner off? fill me in

savvyaggie
10-01-2005, 05:20 PM
Matt, when we got back from wheelin, there was a pretty big party/ring dunk going on at thier office with alot of underage drinking. We had no idea what wuz going on, then the owner came back and saw it and wuz not happy at all. We werent involved, we were just at the wrong place at the wrong time.

I talked(threw him some mad love ) to the owner for a bit last night when he came back (the second time), and I told him that we knew nothing about the party and the we had no involvement with it, what so ever. It should all be fine, Jason? (dodge truck) also explained to him that we had no part in it. Though, I do think we should talk to him to make sure everything is fine. to be on the safe side.

TxCruzr
10-01-2005, 11:29 PM
It would be a good idea to talk to the guy face to face and do whatever to make sure he isn't even slightly pissed. Can't lose this place being so close to something stupid.

CRaSHnBuRN
10-01-2005, 11:32 PM

Last time I was out there I remember Nathan telling me that a student lived in that shack up at the front, it was probably him and his buddies. I hope. Besides that It looked like yall had a good time, and looks like chris needs some beadlocks.
