Who's in for splitting a tap? Or I'll buy it and tap your tierod's for a small fee, maybe that would work better.

I dont see a shared tap working welll so if you buy it and I decide to not go inserts, you can tap my hole.

yeah, you wouldnt know anything about tapping a hole AND splitting it.

actually, i couldn't just make a pole with 1 choice, hence the whole pole thing...
Anyways, lets just say I buy the tap and do it. I also have access to a right hand tap.

on his website it looks like it cost $7 a foot for 1.25" and almost $10 a foot for 1.5"... plus shipping

price goes down as quantity goes up on that site though. Maybe this guy would get cheaper if we did a group buy?

why not take the pollock's advice and get pipe?
1 1/4" sch xx OD=1.660, .382 wall. You can turn the ID out to 1" for inserts...
what ID do you need for that tap?

actually i wouldn't be against that... now to find that pipe!
wouldn't you know it, we have a 53/64ths drill bit I need for the tap, in a morse taper too!

okay ace bolt and screw has 3/4" sch 80 which is .742 ID and 1.050 OD and has a .154 wall. The best part is it's 80 cents a foot. I'll make 2 of everything at that price!

i just had a tie rod made at smiley's in the woodlands 1''O.D 51 '' long & taped right & left & 3/4'' heims with 5/8 holes & jam nuts for $65 ........... there tubeing is $5 a ft

Hey Krebs, can you call and find if they can get me a price on those 1" taps... i dont know crap for anything about taps and would end up spending big money on the wrong thing. i will pay for em if you could just call for me... thanks
