Hey, I'm trying to do some work on a Dana 44 I recently pulled out of a junk yard, but the diff cover has a hole poked in it. I would like to do the work on it tomorrow morning (Thurs.), but I need the hole welded up first. I was hoping someone with a welder would be able to help me out. It may be one of the easiest welds you've ever done.

it wouldn't be as easy as you may think to weld cause its thin. Also what put the hole there, that could be a nice thing to know.

JB weld it till you can get a new cover. Might as well get a beefy aftermarket one while you're at it.

Some j-yards poke holes in the cover to make sure they're drained so people won't drain the axle in their yard area.

I'll weld it for you if you can fix my hydraulic pump!

Yeah, it was just a lazy-man's drain hole. They had to go and ruin a perfectly good diff cover. I though about buying another one, but I'm too cheap. JB weld sounds good, at least for now. I just need a quick fix for tomorrow, and that's definitely quick. I'll mess with it later. Thanks guys.

whoa whoa whoa, you're saying Austin screwed you over, I find that one hard to believe :)
The ones on my scout have welded up holes, you have to work to get a hole in the Dodge ramcharger front covers, they're beefy!
