anybody know where to get some for free/dirt? Any of ya'll have a surplus sitting in the back at work? Weather is getting perfect to start smoking meat. So, I'm planning on building one of these. They'd probably need to be the fully covered ones... or with a metal lid. Any orders?

ide build mine using expired propane tanks cause they have a thicker wall and will last longer

i thought about the drum action, but I think they would burn out pretty quick. I need a smoker though...

might come out to 47 and look around. There is lots of assorted random metal. I am sure steve wouldn't mind you hauling it off for him

i'd prefer propane tanks, but i don't think they are as available as drums....The thicker the walls, the smaller temperature fluctuation, which makes propane tanks perfect... Any help finding some would be awesome....

Go to any propane place and they'll have some old ones that are out of date and can't be used any more. Should be cheap.
