I have no idea what the guy is asking, nor do I know the cost, but this thing is just to cool, and cool in a :rainbow: sort of way

this is the kind of crap I would buy up if I won the lottery. This is why I should never have money!

New thought, Brandon wouldn't this solve your dilemma of which vehicle to work on?

Gives me ideas for my padre's 66 bug? I think it'd be cool to have a beach buggy for ****s and grins.

I used to see a 60s bug around where i lived in dallas with some huge turbo downpipe contraption sticking out of the back of it. It was pretty fast though. I didn't know that coffee grinder engine could handle a turbo

that was probably just the exhaust, alot of the baja style bugs have that type of wierd tubing out the back

Ehmm...that exhaust thingy happens to be called a Stinger. Just so you know back in the 70's my dad used to race his bug which was bored over, hurst 4spd., stinger, etc... and beat goats, mustangs, and camaro's on the 1/8 mile. Now the 1/4 mile is a different story, bugs have no top end and get pretty hairy at high speeds. I was able to drive it my soph. year in highschool before it got all f'd up (storage unit caught fire and burned it up pretty bad) and everyone made fun of me for it... until I pulled the front wheels off the ground in the parking lot. :flipoff2: Hopefully we'll rebuild it after I get the heap up here.

Thats what i thought when i first saw it. but i saw it parked and i went up to it and the guy made some header that came out of the engine compartment and it had a turbo bolted on it with a bypass pipe below it with a solenoid or something. its weird. It didnt have a hood or anything. It didn't look like it'd blow up if you started it, but it was definitly klooged together. i have a picture of it on my phone but i don't know how to get it to the computer

Alot of the vw guys started using porsche turbo's back then and it's just progressed ever since. The little 4 bangers can make some pretty good power if you build and tune them right. And once you put a bad little motor like that in the rear, you know the tires are coming off the ground. :D

and at the end of the day you are still that dude driving a bug...

If it was a bug that could do wheelies, I wouldn't care. :gigem:

I think it's crazy that people still do the Baja 1000 in full-bodied bugs
imagine airing one of those things out...
