I assume that's what's on Chris' 4-runna
are there differences in years/models of these bad boys, or do they all bolt up the same?
How about remote vs attached reservoir? Chris will probably go hydro-assist eventually so we should probably go remote if possible. Is this a problem or will it swap easily? Anybody know the application we should tell the parts guys when looking for one of these?
Thanx

Are you looking for inside or outside the frame mounted? If inside, they came on 90s body style chevies and all S10s. They all have metric o-ring style fittings. The fullsize and s10 ones have different sized bolts, but thats the only difference as far as I know. The outside the frame ones came on 70s and 80s chevies. The 70s ones had flare SAE fitting and the 80s ones had the o-ring metric fittings. Thats all I know about them, other than ALL of their inpout and output shafts are the same (2 wheel drive and 4x4 outputs [sector shafts] are different). Clear as mud?

After reading erics post, I'm not so sure he is asking about the steering box. I think he may be asking about the pump instead, since he mentioned the reservoir, and since Chris runs a toyota IFS steering box.

Dammit, time wasted! Anyway, I hear chevy one ton pumps flow more, but I dont know if thats true or not. Chances are if it has a remote reservoir its a higher flowing pump. I can show you how to mod it for more flow if you want, its easy and takes about 10 minutes.

I have one on my little bronco. I might be looking to get rid of it. It does sound like it has a cat inside it.

It probably just wants to eat Jimmy's children

any chance a saginaw pump for a furd would bolt up the same as a cheby one?

I'm pretty sure most of the saginaw style pumps have the same bolt patterns, the cases are a little different though

I decided to just replace my pump with an identical one. My limitation is the short water pump. I will switch to a better (remote reservoir) setup when I go serpentine.
