the military uses them. i saw something on tv about it. they either are already are in service or they are considering it. its prolly on that page somewhere but im too lazy to read it. they'll run on jet fuel too. pretty cool.

isn't it the same thing pretty much?
How fast is it?

Jet fuel is more of a kerosene than a diesel.

That diesel thing has been around for a while. I don't think it is actually in production. A few years back Tech had a project to make fuel injection for it.

I do know that the military does use KLR's, there is a company in California that outfits them. If you search ebay you can buy some of the take-off parts like tires, but I don't think the diesel is actually a production bike.

Just picked up an issue of Diesel Performance and saw those bikes in there. They had a full article on em'. Seems like a good idea?

Just as a side note diesel and jet fuel are very similar. On CUCV 6.2s and hummer 6.2 and 6.5s, the injection pumps have hardened internal parts so they can run on jet fuel, I guess to make logistics easier in combat areas, cause I cant imagine that **** being any cheaper than diesel.

Thats why the military went with the diesel motorcycle because of Nato's one fuel idea. The Navy or the Marines, i dont remember which, has phased out gasoline completey, even in the small generators.

I think they chose the wrong paint scheme for the bike in the picture...I guess they got the seat cover right though

fuel injection for a diesel... impossible.

fuel injection for a diesel... impossible.

not impossible, you just have to use Jet fuel instead of Diesel...

know what would be cool, if they could make some type of mechanical fuel injection for a diesel, so you wouldn't have to have any confusing electronics

I meant they were trying to make a gasoline fuel injection engine you f***ing retard.

how can you fuel inject gasoline? its isnt fuel, its gas.

are we still pretending to be stupid? Cuz gas(oline) is a fuel, and diesel is a fuel, but diesel is not gas(oline), neither is it a gas :)

The early corvettes have mechanical fuel injection, there is also hillborn mechanical fuel injection but they are either on or off. Progressive linkage is required to make them streetable.

he uses solar power and other such means, he is a nut job, don't read it, you'll feel dumber...you've been warned.
