I talked with Landon (who just bought Busa's truck) and he wanted to go to Clayton as well. If I have my steering sorted out by then I'll go. I swear...

Fredo
05-12-2006, 11:39 AM
I'm willing to put good money down that something keeps chadnuts from going at the last second. Come on, San Antonio to Clayton? You will ***** about fuel costs and decide it's not worth it a week before going anyway.

Chadnutz
05-12-2006, 01:10 PM
Nah. I have the house and I've bought all I NEED for it so I can't blame it on money this time. Now if I can't get the hydro-assist working them I won't be going.

Chadnutz
05-23-2006, 08:35 AM
I shortened the fitting that was probably inhibiting flow on the top of the steering box and refilled the system and I still didn't have power steering so I'm going to assume that the pump is dead. I bought another pump and it will be here tomorrow. I'll know tomorrow evening if I'm going to make it or not.

If it is plumbed right then the only thing that should have been causing a problem would have been the fitting. I used my pinky to measure depth and the fitting was about 1 mm from the bottom of the tap....

I'm trying, damnit.

In edit: This isn't going to be the deciding factor for me going, but holy **** this trip is expensive. Are we FWD-FWD members or just SWFWD members? $125 for a meal ticket and the right to go on trails that are free, aren't they?

Chadnutz

Plus $15 for each shirt! It's supply and demand, they will still have 100+ rigs there, and every place in town is sold out. Freilings and Green Acres are $10 or so to use normally. There might be a little markup in there, but if people are willing to pay and hopefully it keeps bubba and his ****pile off the trail, but I wouldn't count on it. Thanks for the offer, but I'll be there even if I have to just throw my old steering back together.

I'm out, Chris have you registered yet? I'm assuming you haven't, I would really appreciate it if you would take mine. I'm not real sure how this would work, give me a call 214.732.1819.

Pissed does not even begin to describe my feelings. I got fawked over by two suppliers after dropping ~$900, then to pour some salt on an open wound we put Fred's perfectly working PSC set-up on my scout, and now it gets hot as fawk and doesn't turn. I'm just going to get wasted and watch the mavs, fawk it. This is the first time we've missed a deadline, and what pisses me off even more is that my steering worked, this was just supposed to make it better. I don't feel like Johnny Cash 1968 anymore, it's more like Johnny Cash Sunday Morning Coming Down.

yeah, they already offered to bring the stuff to clayton. I told them the point was I could work on my truck at home, not in Clayton, in the dirt, in front of everybody, while everybody else is wheeling. They dropped the ball and it wasn't our fault, so why make them look like the hero by bringing our stuff to clayton so we could do yet another wrenchfest just to wheel.

Me, Cody, Troy, Busa and Laura, Landon, Chris and Coop ended up making this trip

Troy had a few layovers in the buggy, Laura had a small layover on Old Yanush trail and everyone gained a few more dings and dents and I cut a tire after bragging about how Ive never cut an MTR (Karma sux).

Big news someone from our club finally won a winch, Coop won the MM 12000.

More to come.

trip was freakiin awesome.. like 130 rigs is what they said. first we got to be in a parade then i think we did not like 10 trails over the entire weekend. sat night they had bbq a local band and a really good raffle... which i won the main prize in :flipoff2: wheeled sunday then after the tamor crew all left we hung out with the FWD-FWD people which were fun as ****. reminded me of us in the old days when jimmy, jerry, doug, grayson etc etc etc still lived here days. sunday night we moved the party over to the A&A... which danny no longer runs due to embezelment. it was alot of fun hangin out there and then today we wheeled till about 11:30 and came back..

overall it was an awesome trip... these are the kinds of events EVERYONE in the club NEEDS to go on

J Cooper
05-30-2006, 10:52 AM
he loved it, creeping over everthing without effort is always great

... im sure chris was loving it too... he concoured his 3 stage demons the first day. i drove it a bit over at green acres.. it was fun but the clutch cable needs to be adjusted... it was like on or off. i killed it once and almost ripped my finger off on his gangster steering wheel.... i made sure not to stall again.

uglyota
05-30-2006, 10:55 AM
is it a centerforce clutch?

J Cooper
05-30-2006, 11:24 AM
i dunno... the clutch doesnt seem to be slipping, its more like the cable for the clutch just got stretched.

i crawled under it and it doesnt use a hydrolic clutch... its just a cable from the petal around the front and over to the passanger side of the trans. i think you can adjust it right there just like a auto trans with a cable shifter.

Yeah, traded in the burban. It works out to be about the same monthly between being friends with the owner of the dealership & the gas milage savings over the 8.1 (or as Jimmy would say "fo-ninty-seven-point-fo"!).

It doesn't tow quite as good as the 3/4 ton, but the sami weighs half as much as 8runner...

I should have my pics & vids posted tomorrow. Cooper, will you burn me a CD of yours so I can put them on my site too? I took hardly any pics, because I was driving and took a bunch of vids.
