Like the title says Hwy 47 BVORP on Sunday March 26. That's the weekend after we come back from spring break. Mark your calendar's and commit so we can have an exact number of people and time to arrive. We are going out there all at once, so no stragglers. This is the prep run for TCC so fix your rig and be there.

Looks like I'll be ordering parts Monday and having to come back to put the shaft in next week sometime. So if anyone wants to come back to conroe to work on their stuff in the shop sometime next week your more than welcome to. I'm not sure yet if I'll be making it to 47 due to however long it takes the shaft to arrive, but once it gets here it should only take me 20 min. to put it all back together, minus the 3 hrs. round trip I'll have to make.

Awe come on Robert, your's would be the best vehicle to take out there if it's muddy.

No way in hell I'd take the Jeep, could you imagine how much mud would get slung everywhere with tires a foot outside the fenders and an open top?

Awesome time. It was a pretty big turnout and everybody wheeled the piss out of their rigs. Apparently you can still be a badass while wheeling a Land Rover, because Steven took his through some tough trails and beat the hell out of it.

I didn't break anything and my Rolls Royce pump was kickin' ass. :gigem:

95discovery

it was an awesome trip, much better than the first one. Thanks to all those who pulled me up some hills, one day i'll get a locker and some decent tires but for now i do what i can. Got a nice dent on the front quarter panel (makes it look mean). and ripped some stupid plastic thing off the back bumper... hopefully it wont be too hard to put back on. Cant wait for next weekend.

Oh and i think it kinda screwed up my alignment or balance of the tires cause when i go 50+mph it starts to wobble a bit. I know the jeep (green one with the "h2 recovery vehicle sticker") was having some serious problems with that too.

Hell Yeah David!! Did it have anything to do with your steering like you had been talking about?

davido
03-27-2006, 09:41 AM
Nope. Thank god. I actually avoided that drop yesterday just because I didn't want to tempt fate. This was a much softer landing.

I was heading down into the creek. It was the other place that I almost rolled two weeks ago. There was a log across the creek and this week I tried to hug up closer to it. Last time, I started to roll but the cage just slid down the log and the rear came back down. This time, the log broke and over I went. Doh! It was slow though, I just hung there from my lap belt trying to keep a finger over the leaking breather holes. I guess I need to put lines on those if I'm going to continue to be stupid.

I definitely need to figure something out on my steering though. It's really slow. I may have all but killed my pump. I'm not sure what the problem is, but it sure needs more flow.

I would appreciate it if anyone that has pics or video of it email them to me directly at davido at highlift.com. Thanks guys for the quick work on the recovery effort.

It was a good time. Micky and the motor cars were badass, and fowler put on a good show. We chilled on his bus a little while before he played, which = free booze, and my gf's bro paid for everything else, so I had a great time. The evening ended by me tracking down my gf's overly inebriated ass in a random chicks house after he ran from me cause he thought I was a cop.

Very well thanks. :D The flop in Clayton bent one bar, mainly because it hit a protruding rock and absorbed all of the shock. I don't think anything happened to it this weekend. I feel really safe in it. The lap belts held perfectly. I didn't hit my noggin' on the overheads. Happy indeed.

I did snapp off a weld on the front end hoop though. It was part that I had grinded down flat, so it's not a big deal. It will weld back together. No hood damage, again.

On the flip side of that, I managed to snap the DOM on my front anti-wrap bar. I'm still dumbfounded by that one. But I can rebuild it. I have the technology.
