is "round up" a gay term....jimmy/fred, we had conversation about this, didn't we?
I'd be down for sure if there is a swap meet involved. didn't see one on the schedule...is there one? may still go if I can stay at my friends.

I would be willing to bet Dennis and his Gas Monkey Buddy Richard aren't going to miss this thing...but as usual, I'm working that weekend. I have to work everytime something cool happens. Oh well, I guess that's what I get for having a ****ty job.

Same weekend as Chilifest and Cajun visit. We'll probably be in Austin though on Saturday for a Wolf family event. Sucks that everything has to happen on that one weekend.

Looks like he's modeling for a cologne ad. But really, what picks up more tail than a wedding ring, cute kid, and street rod? What could be better? I like what he did with it. Best 4 door idea I've seen. Even with the 50s diner looking interior.

Austin, Golf is with co-workers. It's some tourney scramble deal, door prizes, beer, food, free. It's at Twin Creeks in Allen, should be fun, did I mention it was free? :gigem:
If you want to go to Austin, give me a call. I'm heading out asap after work Friday.

A lot of time at rod runs like this the parking lot will look like a car show b/c of the age restriction. I'm stoked, tatted up hookers and straight pipes, I've got a chub just thinking about it! Too bad my office isn't more private! (too far?)

Did you know my Dad has a '53 Hardtop that has been unmolested sitting in the shop. He talks about someday taking it to Bonneville. :) I think the '53-'54 Loewey coupe body holds more land speed records than any other body. Very "aero" for its time. When you compare it to other '53 bodied cars it looks about 20 years ahead of the others. The Vintage air car has been around for quite a while. IIRC he did the first ever Power Tour w/o changing a thing from when he ran at Bonneville. He ended up pulling the threaded studs clean out of the heads about half-way through the tour  . It's basically a tubed NASCAR chassis w/ a Possum motor (bigger than a rat motor) stuck in it. I think he fittingly takes to the motto, "There's no replacement for displacement."

Jack said Winston Cup Chassis, but whatever. He was a really nice guy, even to the "Austinites" that asked him kickass questions like, "How did you lower it?" That thing made the rest of the straight pipe cars the sound a little weak. I'll post my pics later tonight. John failed to mention we almost had to throw down with some greasers. Lots of cool ****, I'm sure it will be a yearly event for me. I want something to cruise next year. Anyone know someone with a 32ish ford truck that wants to get into the off-road game?

I think he saw my post about the Loewey coupe before they made that video! :D

Edit: If you think about it...it's not that big of a deal. A NASCAR chassis w/ a more aero body, more horse power and cubes than Nextel Cup cars and it goes 200+ mph. I'll be watching cars go over 200 mph next weekend side by side and making left hand turns at around 160 mph all day spinning 9000 RPM for 500 miles. :flipoff2:
