Seadoo's are gay they use a rotor vavle that is really dumb. Plus they are made by a french company go figure.

no way polaris won the enduro and closed circut series 3 years in a row nothing can hang with a pro 1200 or virage ti, i had both and raced both, its too bad they got out of the watergraft business

The seadoo rotax engine works a little different than that one.

wow i just spend more time than i should have looking up info on this...

Found out that bombardier(sea-doo) came out with the first sit down in 1967. They bought the rights from the inventor jacobsen. He first used a 318cc air cooled engine. When sea-doo got the prototype they changed it to a water cooled engine. After toying with it they lost interest as the snow mobile market was huge at the time.

In 1971 Jacobsen got his patent back and sold it to Kawasaki who eventually made the stand ups that mike spanks it too.

Sea-doo got back into the industry in 1988. I didn't find a whole lot about the Rotax engine which was my primary goal of the search.

P.S. Bombardier is a Candadian company, not that its that much better :flipoff2:

if you wanna find more about the rotax motor, they were originally designed for ultralight aircraft, there should be a lot of info about those motors, my dad has a 2001 model seadoo gtx di, i think its about 955cc and it puts out around 135 hp, the only thing i dont like about his ski is that it doesn't have a tilt/trim button, but even without it i can still hit about 70 mph in choppy water, those rotax motors are some bad doods
here is a link for the motors http://www.rotax.com/en/

I just think reed valves are a much simpler way to do it. You have to time that rotary valve and all the crap. Reeds you just put them in there and let it run it will pull what gas and air mix it wants.

PS Candadian have ties to the french

And yes I spank it to Kawasaki's. I still have 3 js500's if you want one.
