I know there's been some interest in planning a summer trip during the month of June to Alto. So let's choose a weekend when Ed is back home and everyone taking summer classes is free. I'll take responsibility for leading and organizing this trip, so post up if you're interested. Don't be scared to get a little dirty, it's about time to have a little fun off the rocks, and see how versatile you're rigs are. :gigem:

I plan on going as long as the tranny I'm swapping in works at least 50%.

I will be home the 21st of june, so this only leaves me the 24-25th weekend, or the 30th-3rd weekend. I have a trailer spot at alto reserved for the 30th-3rd weekend, but I have no problem going back to back weekends, or going to gilmer or else where for the 4th. I know some of the summer skroolers have finals around the 4th, my cousin has two on the 3rd.

50%? As in 50% of the time, or only working at 50% all the time? :flipoff2:

You know, you quitting really fawked with my schedule. We've trained one girl, who then decided she didn't want to do it, then we hired a new guy, who I trained on thursday, and he's already quitting to go work at the Hilton (he wanted more hours). So I have to go find and train a new Night Audit now. My schedule has yet to last a three day period without being changed since you left. But, the nice thing is since you left, we've hired a bunch of cute new girls :flipoff2:

I will probably be in 4 a trip to alto. Although I bought a new/used house and I close on it on the 22nd of this month. So I will be busy, but I will try 2 go as long as as my P.O.S. Dodge is still running!!!

I went ahead and reserved a spot for the stabbin cabin on the 24-25 weekend. I will probably be headed back out there for the 4th weekend also, barring any major carnage the first weekend. :flipoff3:

I feel like a kid at christmas, 11 mo days.

Did you take any pictures John? I took like two that arent really worth posting but I think Ed took alot.

We had a blast. The night wheelin was awesome, and the trails were pretty dry (john did find the only mudhole though (atleast the only one untill the bottom fell out saturday around lunch)). The cheby faired pretty well, only having to deal with a recurring overheating problem. I will iron this out before next weekend though.

My step-dad did drown the toy and it wont start now (this will be the last thing to get fixed probably), and burned up a drive belt on one of the 4-wheelers. I will try to post up some pics soon, but only have dial up here at the ranch, so they may be slow in coming.

That's sweet! Definitely a good use of space. We need to make another Alto trip soon.

BTW- are you running snorkel's on those Cat's?

I am now, I didn't have the time before that trip, but got them on before the pre-4th trip. They work real good, my little bro put them to the test.

Yeah, I bought a kit from bayou snorkel. The kit was about 170 shipped i think, so i bought 2. One for both of the 650's. The total cost was less than the last time I had the orange one in the shop to get it runnin after it got swamped, so I figured I was money ahead. Next time on the 400 though, I will go load up at Lowe's and do it myself with 2" insead of 1 1/2". I was real pissed at myself for not realising how easy it was gonna be.

Lesson #26,347,981 $400
Plane ticket home $1600
My time putting that Bastard on with my little bro (at $20 an hour for 6 hours) $120
WAtchin him bury it and it still come out runnin like a champ.
PRICELESS

That's not that bad. Bert's Dirt Works is right by 1960 and they have good prices and do good work. I need to check into the river here on 242, I've seen alot of rigs and 4wheelers down there lately. When the gov't instated that law about no motorized vehicles on lakes/riverbeds no one went down there, but now I see people down there all the time and the law doesn't seem to bother them. Still doesn't make it right though.
