This may tie in to the Alto June trip thread, but some of us Louisiana folk will descend upon Alto to enjoy some wheeling and general redneck entertainment from 6/30 to 7/2. Some of our party will be staying at the luxurious Weston Inn in Rusk, and some of us will be braving the locals at the campground.

Much alcohol, and fun will be had by all. Post up if you're interested so I'll know who to look for.

As long as I don't have major carnage the weekend before, we'll be there.

That's our plan. Some of our group will arrive Friday afternoon, but it looks like most of us won't roll in until Friday night.

Our group:
Myself, Diya, & the Scout
Josh, his wife, & their YJ on 33s
The 'laws and their K5 on 42s
Shane and his brand-new-to-him TJ on 46s
A couple of other buddies on 4 wheelers

Of the escalade? Haven't taken any really, it looks like a new escalade. Go to edmunds.com & take a look. :flipoff2:

Here's one:

And coop has a couple pics from the same trip. Really, though it's super nice, I don't think it's anything special. It's a tahoe with some add on's. I wouldn't pay extra over a Tahoe/Yukon/Denali for it. FYI, we didn't pay more either, we got this because it worked out ~$200 a month CHEAPER than the above (Cadillac lease incentives + friend owns dealer).

Me, my 2 bro's and folks w/ da cheby on cherry fowtyfos, toy (if the starter problem gets fixed) on turdywons, and a handfull of foweelers.

Looks like it will be friday afternoon and we have 2 trailer spots at pole #1 so there will be plenty of room to the north to park if we get there early enough.

because it will take me all day today to finish a paper I was supposed to finish last Friday, and the next 4 days to finish a timber appraisal that I was supposed to have done by tomorrow. Then I get to start getting caught back up on my thesis.

Well, we just got back in, its about 1:20a.m. monday mornin. Had a great time. Got the carnage over with early on though, blew a u-joint and bent the lobe on the driveshaft at about 10 p.m. friday night, so we were stuck with the 4 wheelers and had a good time with those anyways. Got to put the snorkels and new vampires to the test on the 650's. Work well, but if anyone wants to put a snorkel kit on one, let me know, I can save ya aobut 80 bones by going to Lowes ang getting the pvc fittings your self. Pictures to follow tomorrow.

you said "F-YOU JOBU!" didnt you?

DRAGOONRANCH
07-03-2006, 11:50 AM
no, JOBU was good to me, or atleast felt pity for the 10b. :flipoff2: I was going to do everything I could to destroy it, but its a damn pesky axle. If I had tried to baby it this weekend it would have blown a shaft getting on the trailer before we left to head down there. I guess it was JOBU's will.

This was the extent of wheelin the cheby. This took all of about 90 seconds to do and it was the first 90 seconds into the trip.

Here is my little bro after he stuck one of the cats and had to get out to hook up the winch.

Did get to watch some of the other 'necks play around though. I don't feel bad about limpin the cheby home, most of the mud trucks had to be towed back to camp before it was all over.
