So when I start my truck, it fires off and runs fine. After it warms up though it idles high. I would guess around 2000 rpm. I know that this is pretty broad, but anyone have any idea what that could be? I still have to put the exhaust back on, that is the only thing that has changed. I would guess bad gas or fuel filter, but it runs fine for a few minutes cold.

vacuum leak, or your open exhaust is messing with your 02 sensor. I wouldn't mess with it until you have your exhaust back together

i would say that it is tryin to compensate for the o2 sensor, the first few minutes the vehicle is running it bypasses the sensor, then after the motor is warm it starts to reading that sensor

o2 sensor

concur, ecm doesn't like it when o2 sensors aren't reading what they should. it might be in 'limp home" mode

i thought about that....the o2 sensor is there, it is just before where i cut off

doesnt matter, its still getting oxygen from outside.

sounds more like an idle air control problem

thats what me and a guy here at work were just talking about. i dont know if the egr would do this, but it is disconnected too.

I am going to check our comp here at work and see if it has a trouble shooting menu for this.

i had a problem with the idle air control valve on my truck, it would run fine, drive fine, but when i went to stop the truck would stay idled up around 1500-1800, replaced that and havn't had a problem yet
