When i was filling up the Duramax, I saw on the pumps that you cant run regular No. 2 Diesel in the 2007 trucks. Will the regular diesel hurt these new trucks or is it just Govt BS? I know im a damn Diesel mech but this is the first time ive heard of this ****. Any insight on this will be helpful

I heard about this as well. Apparently it's a low-sulfur grade, I've heard that it's best to use an additive because the new fuel is supposed to hinder performance and fuel economy?

Cause all we can get around here is the regular diesel and the new ones cant use it for some odd ass reason

well by november all that will be sold is the nearly no sulfur diesel. Currently it is about 500ppm sulfur and they are dropping it to about 5 ppm or something rediculously low.

It shouldn't affect older trucks but all of the emissions crap on the 2007 and newer trucks lowers performance which is why they upped displacement and ford went to twin turbos.

Nice...

Brandon: I have a major VW bias.
Chadnutz: I work at a world renowned engine and emissions test facility and we have one on an engine stand.
AggieTJ: I learned everything great about VW diesels from an off-road forum which allows me to call Chadnutz dumb.

Fuel economy isn't the only factor in which we rate an engine, but whatever.. Follow the crowd there, big boy... Bash me all you want.

i have a good friend with a tdi in a jetta - no probs for him, and it drives great. i like how it never bogs bc of the torque and you get that steam engine sling shot feel.

Why would anyone want a diesel after this year? We're all going to be driving horse and buggy after all the mideast countries blow themselves up.

Once they blow themselves up we can probably legally colonize them to provide humanitarian aide in exchange for a few gallons of oil. :D
