i'm about to buy some spare shafts and hubs from this guy on ju for $80 shipped
he said "74 cj5 d30 . I just have the axle shafts. All internals were gone when I got the jeep. Hubs are off a Dana 30 from 77 cj5."
assuming they are good they will fit right, i'm still nt
good deal?

if you are talking about the bearing hubs or locking hubs, then no, they aren't the same. 77 used a 6 bolt design, where 81 used a 5 bolt design. Unless you have an early 81 that still used the 6 bolt hubs. If you wanted to swap the bearing hub and the locking hub from the 77 onto your 81 then they will work. You can't just swap the locking hub from the 77 onto your 81 bearing hub. The shaft and the rotor from either year will work with either bearing hub and locking hug design as a pair.
