so is that the weekend of october 6-8th? I say 47 cause I would like to take the runner out to play with it, and alto is a little farther than I want go

alto would make a good entire day trip, instead of a 47 half day. plus we've already been to 47, and may be going again this weekend

I wanna check out alto, but i still want to go out to 47 this weekend (and no more following robert and his damn f-100 around, he takes those tight, scratch the **** out of my FJ trails....;))

I'll never take my truck back to Alto. The sand gets in everything, and there's not that much to do if you aren't into mud. I would take a 4-wheeler if I had one. The boobs are better there than at 47 in my experience however ;)

I say Alto, we could head up there in 2 groups as well. One group could head up there Saturday afternoon then camp/nightwheel, then the people who don't want to camp could just head up there on Sunday morning. Kind of like last year.

Sorry, I voted on this but as you all know I have no chance in he!! in going, but it is where I would go if I had been to 47 twice (if a trip happens this weekend).

it's not always that dusty, and there's at least as much again as what we saw at the redneck fest (don't know a good way to say that...we probably saw less than half of the non-mud stuff, and none of the rocks. Alto has some fun rocks)

alto has great rocks, and hills and trees, you just have to find them.

Well, except for the trees they find me and hug the jeep

of course if I were jimmy I wouldn't want to drive down for Alto or 47, with rock ranch and bmra probably the same distance

can you bring a 4wheeler to 47?

sasquatch

yes, but plan on wearing safety equipment

We'll have to check and see on that one but I don't think so.

yes, but plan on wearing safety equipment

That's more a club rule than an alto rule yes? What does this safety equipment include? The state only requires a helmet and that you take a riding course which is offered in town. There is a public riding area at somerville. Years back I was wanting to fix my 4wheeler and bring it up but couldn't find anyone interested in riding.

sasquatch

i know 47 requires a helmet and maybe pads. not sure about alto. i sure as hell didn't see any helmets at the redneck games

BMFScout

Alto is every man for himself. If you were wearing a helmet at the redenck games you would have gotten pelted with mudballs and laughed at. Hell, I felt strange wearing a shirt!

im pretty sure safety gear is looked down upon at alto. i was expecting casualties the last time i was there. i attribute the lack of KIA's to dumb luck.

It was a slow weekend that time and we did see that one roll but the alcohol must be like the redneck anti-kryptonite as he jumped right up and drove off. There was a hot chika in full moto-x gear the july 4th weekend.....

Just called a little while ago to make sure that they are open like there site and voice messge say they are. So everyone clear you calendar for some fun this weekend. Tenative plan is to leave saturday morning and return saturday afternoon-night, if anyone is heading up the night before or staying saturday night, post up so everyone can get an idea.
i would say shoot to meet at Mcdonalds at 8 or 8:30 it takes about and hour and a half drive time to get there.

also one of the new members that isnt on the boards asked me if i knew of anyone was wanting to split a trailer up there. He doesnt wanna eat diesel cost alone so if you would be intersted post up and i can get you all in contact with him.

Alright i called the people at shiloh ridge last saturday and left a message with them to call me so we could be sure the park is open, as well as me emailing them. Well when they finally called me back today she informs me that they are having some type of truck rodeo there this weekend, and that the price per rig is gonna be 40 bucks. I assume this is gonna be something like the redneck games weekend that was held a month or so ago.

Do people want to go if there is gonna be a huge group of people out there, and you are gonna have to pay 40 bucks? or do you wanna try and do 47 this weekend, or somewhere else. Let me know those of you that were planning on going so we can getsomething worked out. i will call steve from hwy 47 tonight and see if the park is open this weekend.

sasquatch

i'll be up for 47 this weekend probably along with whoever doesn't go today. i can't go today since my tcase mount isn't done.

stx4wheeler
10-06-2006, 10:30 AM

stx4wheeler
10-06-2006, 02:52 PM
Alright, Steve replied to my email i had sent him, and said that either that 10 am would be fine tomorrow. So i am planning on being at Mcdonalds at 9 30 am tomorrow morning and shoot for being at the gate at 10 am. So either be at Mcdonalds on University by 9 30 am or meet us at the gate at 10 am. I would prefer that everyone meet at 9:30 so we get there in one big group.

Good trip. Got some new peoples stuck and had quite a recovery. I'm sure pics will follow. I had my squeaky u-joint turn into a clicky u-joint so had to take it easy. Coco Loco really isn't very good.

Cool Pics.

Some friends from work and the Cardoc crew are headed to Alto in two weeks, like the weekend of the 20th. So far we got my Bronco, a stock scout, a Sami, an FJ, a 4runner, a Brat, and a pink Chevy g20. Not a "sanctioned" TAMOR run. It is the Halloween run, so expect rednecks, beer, 4wheelers, beer, boobies, and beer. Bring your tents and coolers. Should be fun. We are leaving either Thursday the 19 or Friday the 20th. Let me know
