My dad has a 70' Chevy 3/4ton 4wd. He bought a set of 36in Baja Claws the other day. What would be the most effective way to put a 3in lift front and back with min cost. Would an add a leaf be better or new springs? I'll have pics next week.

A 3" B.L. would be fairly cheap if he's not going crazy with it. Or 3" block's in the rear and new springs/shackles in the front?

Def no blocks, and no body lift because of the aftermarket radiator, i was thinking shackels in front and leaves in rear.

Do eet! That's probably the cheapest and easiest way to achieve more altitude. A shackle flip for the rear would work, but it's a pita to grind all the rivet's out if you don't have a torch.

Ummm... if you do 3" shackles in the front that is going to anger the pinion angle.

Whats the purpose of this truck?

an air hammer works great for doin this, I have used this method for drop kits a few times

I prefer the hot wrench mainly cause my air hammer sucks.

Is there any aftermarket lifts out there that could either substitute in this application or other suggestions. If anyone has the stuff for sale or know where to get it cheap, it would help plenty.

find a set of 4" springs for the front and cut a hole in the bottom of the rear hanger ie lazy shackle flip and then brace the rear hanger and vuala cheap lift

cheapest way to get 36"s? well the PS fender is already trashed and there is no bed.

start cutting, at most you'll be out 1 fender.

look in 4wheel off-road. I don't know how many gears are available for it but I do know that you can get a detriot for it.

oh that looks like a 205, and yes that front looks like a 44

I bet you would be better off going with a 14 bolt.

Rowdy, that cab looks in bad shape man, I think you need to sell it to me. How's a brick or two of stones sound. ;)

Yes, D44 front, but I think it has dinky shafts, I dont remember for sure though. T-case is deffinately a 205, even has a fixed rear output. Sthuper. As far as the eaton goes, good luck finding parts for it. For some reason I think it might actually have a detroit in it and not a posi. They are hella strong, just as much so as a 14 bolt. You wont break it.

I thought a 44 of that era would be closed knuckle.
