This is the last thing I'm worried about, but while I'm studying it's one of the only things on the blazer that I can day dream about. All the other crap is kinda straight forward.

So, I'm looking for ideas for the mount on the axle. If I had regular steering I wouldn't be asking a question. With high steer it complicates things a bit.

So far I've seen two options. The first being mounted on top of the spring plate. Kinda ghetto and it's close to the tierod.

Second being a tower that angles toward the tie rod.

Here is an example, although a completely different kind of steering setup. Concept is the same though.

Mine would be on the backside of the axle on the driver's side. For some reason a mount like this just looks goofy, but I don't see a way around it.

since somebody must have deactivated cody and he never posts pics anyways. ill share his. i plan on doing something similar. its a TSC 2x8 cylinder mounted on the weld on tractor three point pivot. the other end he turned on a lathe and put a heim on. doesnt look stiff, but it must be. works fine.

You saw mine Doug. It was easy. I just used 2" x 2" thick walled square tubing.

I was just planning on some square tube with a notch cut out mounted to axle, with one of those mad4x4-esque mounts on the track bar to allow for adjustment.

edit: maybe its not mad4x4...

I'm hoping you mean the tie rod, cause hooking the ram to your track bar is gonna cause some wierd handling :flipoff2:

As for the axle mount, I can't really help there, but I made the tie rod mount adjustable last time, and it worked pretty nice

Yea there are rigid couplings that are just like those fancy ones. Don't rememer where I would get them. It wasn't motion or purvis.

I've got to figure something out as well, maybe before next weekend? (probably not) Have all the parts, just need to make a mount. My axle is narrower than what you guys are messing with, and the oilpan is close. I'm not sure what the plan is yet, Flem and I have discussed it over beer before, but nothing that requires getting dirty yet.

I've also been thinking on this for a few years. I guess I need to mount the cylinder above the tie rod. It would be convienent to mount it from the diff cover but then I'd need a heavy one. I'd really like to mount it to a high steer arm on the driver side knuckle but that would also require a long mount from the axle. I replaced my power steering pump yesterday and it works great. The last pump never did work worth much of a dam. Can turn it with 1 finger in 2wd again.

Since I didn't go to clayton the other day ago maybe I'll go to this gilmer. Haven't been there in a few years.

I've heard alot of people that mount their ram to the diff cover have problems with the cover leaking all the time from being wiggled around by the ram.
