I will be bringin the jeep, if everything goes right i will have room on the trailer. I am still unsure as to the status of the furd though at this moment. If push comes to shove, I will have a 20' bumperpull with me behind my brothers truck and we can haul it on that and I will just sneak the jeep up there. The cheby will not be making an appearance anywhere other than my back 40 until clayton.

you staying the whole weekend? You can park whatever at my house if you need too.

Edit: you don't need to sneak the jeep. My house is only about 4 miles from 47, we could just drop the jeep off and then get my blazer real quick.

I'm working on getting it street legal, so we might not have to mess with this.

I was under the impression that the only thing to get the jeep ready would be taillights, but John may know more about this right now. I wouldnt mind driving it up there, as I have never even been in a jeep before. I wont be in town all weekend, just fri. night for some drinkin, saturday mornin wheelin with scotti, then whenever sunday we go. I will probably head back to the house inbetween all of this so my family doesnt scalp me for not being around. :gigem: We can sure make 2 trips also, this is fine with me, as I am pretty flexible for a fat boy;)

If I can get the jeep fixed by then I'll be in. Someone let me use a torch. Got some frame unbending and rewelding to do. I'll also use this as a reminder to replace a u-joint.

I fixed the frame today. I used a highlift, a pipe, and a medium size hammer to straighten it and bring the ripped part back together. First I tried moderate force but that did not work. So I tried more force, still no. I finally used excessive force and that got it. Then I got to weld upside down, always fun. Still not exactly straight, but pretty close. I'm gonna cut that mount off and replace it with a crossmember with integrated mount. I could just brace the mount more, but I think it would still twist the frame and eventually crack it.

Ed you still up for putting my shat box on the trailer? I still need to change two u-joints in the shafts, but that shouldn't take to long tommorow morning.

Also, if anyone has a 1350 yoke for a dana 60 call me 979-220-6444. I've got a conversion u-joint, but I'd rather not use it.

Anyone know Ed's number? Or anyone want to help me get my shatbox up there? I live 4 miles from the place pretty much just a straight shot down villa maria.

Jordan's jeep was rather impressive.

Doug Krebs
12-02-2006, 07:36 PM
Well the 2 wheel drive mudding was fun for me! Broke the front conversion yoke the first obstacle. I was only idling up it and wasn't using any gas. I'm assuming the u-joint had something wrong with it. I'm just going to get a 1350 pinion yoke and call it good.

Definately found out I need bump stops. Those springs flex until they are arched the wrong way. I'm not sure how much I like them. I'm going to put the overload back in them and also finish the bumpstops and limiting straps.

Also need to do something about the steering. Think I'm going replace the pump and rebuild the box. I hate not being able to steer.

Highlights of the day:

"Did he come back with two dogs?"
"Where the hell is your shovel?"
"Damn that guy needs to learn how to drive..."
"Is that his front drivetrain hanging down?"
"Is that tennis ball stuck in the mud on kopecki's jeep?"
"Miller High Life Light?"

And personal motto of the day:
"Awwww fawk it..."

i think the order may be worng, but yeah, those were highlights. the rubicon in the creek was worth it to me. I had tons of fun with yall out there though. i need to get a beater. my motto ended up being, "that ****'ll buff out". I was impressed by jordans jeep and the cummins. I didnt know what to expect since i didnt know the trials so next time ill try more.
