Anybody know what size socket I need to pull the plugs on my 1.6L Geo Tracker engine in my sammy? It's at the shop at the moment and I am going ot sears tonight anyway.

Standard sizes are 5/8" and 13/16" as far as I know. But on a Geo Tracker, who knows.

I posted up on the sammi forum on pirate. Maybe they will know off hand. It's a VERY common swap in sammis

With an engine that size my guess would be 5/8". Just by a spark plug socket set...it's normally only 2 or 3 sockets (if it includes 7/8") and won't cost that much.

Yea its just the normal little one on my 1.8L. Got to have some extensions to get to them, but then I have 2 cams where I think you have only 1.

I'll either buy 5/8 or a whole set. Already got the extensions

dude just use a deep socket and needlenose pliers, I'm pretty sure you have a whole set. Those dudes are either 5/8 or 18mm, I can't remember

Decided to buy a $20 set from sears. I'm sure one of them works. I just wanted to have a set so that next time I roll (clayton?) I can blow out the cylinders :)

uh, yeah. I think that I may have missed this thread while I was home due to my slow ISP.

Wanted to know what all sizes came in the set too.

Because you work on Geo Trackers a lot right..

Not geo's but I have plenty of other weird vehicle and odd machinery that needs some TLC come through here. We have to go with the lowest bidder and this gets some off the wall junk in here.

I laughed aloud when I got the notification this thread got bumped. Good god, Ed, did you finish reading the internet yet?

oh, and for the record, I still don't know what sparkplug size I have. I bought a set and carry it with me. I'll figure it out next time I roll...

I have the short term memory of a gnat so if I did get to the end of it I have forgotten. :gigem:
