It's getting to be that time of year again. I'm down for another dose of freaks and beater cars. Last year was fun. I was thinking I might see how the Belle goes over, If I can get it to stay in first it will do a wicked smoke show!

i just met this dude at denny's. drives a 54 dodge sedan with a 331 hemi in it, skulls galore(him and the car), a big black plastic rat in the back seat, and a red maaco paint job with homebrew pinstriping, dual glasspacks, leather vest, shaved head, goatee. i tried to talk him into going to austin but he seemed happy with just hitting the car shows here and kroger parking lot once a month in bryan. he's got a 53 chevy sedan at home and totaled a 50 plymouth a couple months ago. i introduced myself and he said, "name's hugh, or junkman, whatever you want to call me."

I think I'm out as of now. I bought a 91 Toyota that needs a little love so I can get rid of Honda Zissou, and I haven't touched Irene in a month, she also needs love. That and I'm going to be out of town every weekend in April and the first week in May. I need to get some **** done before that. Booo....

KBB is $4600 with the miles and condition, I'll be getting less I'm sure. I've always been weary of the auto tranny, and it's probably my imagination, but it seems like it searches for the next gear more than it used to. I want it gone before I have to work on it, transverse mounted engines bring the suck to work on. A little truck is better anyway, I can put motors/motorcycles/drunk friends/etc. in the back.

Yeah I'm kind of leaning towards a jap truck, I've found some 99-01 nissans in my price range with less that a 100k. I would like an s-10 but they are all ragged out.

I also hate transverse engines and think a truck has more room under the hood to work.

When everyone bailed, I ended up hitting Chilifest for the first time in six years. It's about the same, except they clean the ****ters half way through Saturday now. Lots of funny shirts and hotties.
