is 4.56 gears and 33's ok in a 97 z71, i think the gears might be a little high for the guy that wants to buy my tires?

That's pretty high. 3.73s would be about the highest I would go.

I had 3.73's and 33"s which was fine. 4.56"s would probably be ok, just not the best highway mileage.

Did a Z ever come with the treeohfive? If he has the 305 4.10s may not be a bad combo, but I wouldn't go with a 4.56 unless he is gonna be doin some serious wheelin.

Maybe he thinks the guy is a little "high" for wanting to run 4.56 w/ 33s? :D

Puff, puff, give...

I was pretty sure I had come across a few single cab/shortbed Z's with them, I just don't remember clearly. If he has 4.56's, he needs some dirtyates atleast.

well actually numerically high gears are called low by some people but it is actually a hgher gear. and yes i know that this debate will go on so don't start it. i guess i will tell the guy to go and find some 35's. anyone have 2 for sale he has 2 almost new at's and blew the other 2 out and was gonna buy the 33's from me and then sell the 2 35's. everyone with me.....

that is not a good way to avoid an argument. Would you call first gear in your car a higher gear than 4th gear? It has more her gear reduction and is thus "numerically higher." 1st must be higher than third then, right?
Your buddy should go to Discount and get 2 new tires with certs.

The two new tires with certs will probably be cheaper in the long run if he plays his cards right
