would a nissan patrol be a good vehicle to start a build up on, would i need to do lots to make it wheelable? i want to go with 33-35 inch tires on what ever i am going to do, but will the axles hold up?

i found one on craigslist in austin, the guy is listing it at 2500, so i was wondering if an offer of 1000 would be worth it, he says that he needs it gone, so it might work, but it might be a little low

It would probably be worth it for that one, but make sure you look at it before you commit. That guy has been listing it since October, so there's probably a reason it hasn't sold yet.

He already lowered the price to $2350. SO if you could get it for around $1000-1200, seems like a good deal. I doubt he'll bite on 50% of his asking price, I'm sure someone already tried that angle. BUt its worth a try, it apparently does run so it cant be that bad.

Have you seen the truck in person? If a guy called me up and offered me less than half what I was asking over the phone w/o seeing the vehicle I would w/o hesitation tell him to go fawk off and hang up the phone. You could quite possibly piss the dude off w/ an offer like that. The winch is worth half of that offer. That is one of my biggest pet peaves. You can ask the guy if he is negotiable but don't start negotiating before you evn see the thing.

I'm sure you're seen that all Scott used were parts of the body. I hear the engine is huge, as in a heavy, low powered chunk of iron that makes an IH motor's power/weight ratio look good. I wouldn't make a wheeler out of it just because it'll be hard to find parts. Just stick to something common.

I need the space more than the money so no low-ballers please.

Its probably worth 2500 bucks.
