Okay, the Jeep is getting closer to actually rolling. It's time to start thinking about tires. Which tires should I get

42" Iroks ;)

edit: now that the poll is up. i actually like the crawlers the best. plus, they make any rig look cool, even pink ones.

We need to have some rubber bigger that all of you guys - I'm leaning towards the 42's - might have to limit the uptravel...

i voted for 42, but only if they are gonna be put on recentered h1's cause i think 42s on fairly narrow wheels and especially the h1's look pimp. If your going with an alloy/aluminium/ or something then the krawlers

This thing going to be pretty dedicated to the trail, or you going to be weekend grocery hopping with it? I say go with the Iroks for the weekend warrior, but the crawlers for a trail rig. Oh, and big is beautiful. :D

We are planning on using alluminum bead lock rims 17x9. We are leaning towards the IROX becuase the tread isn't as soft and we want to be able to drive the Jeep on the road for an occasional office trip and "Sunday drives". It will be used in the same capacity as "George" was. Although Krawlers are cool and not many trail people will have the ones we are getting unless they know someone; I'm thinking that would be superceded with 42 inch IROX. We were just concerned that we might have a harder time fitting the IROX and have to limit uptravel. So I'm torn between the two. Life is so hard.

Any ideas on the best way to enter a Jeep like this 5 months pregnant? I talked my doctor into letting me go off-roading as long as I bipass obsticles.

I'm partial to TSLs. :) Not really a fan of IROKs, but I'm sure you guys can make them look plenty capable. Comp Crawlers would be rockin. It's going to be cool regardless.

well, we pussed out and went with the 39.5" Iroks. I wanted the 42's but they were like $500 more - and those things are HUGE... I'm not sure were ready for something that big :)

We ordered the MT Classic II's with the fake locks for the rims

davido
02-23-2007, 02:50 PM

yep - we can't hang with your 42's. Keeping it a little easier to manage

davido

Actually, I was more commenting on this:

"MT Classic II's with the fake locks"

Maybe I'm mistaken, but are you referring to faux locks? Surely not the streelocks Scott! Tell me it ain't so! :)

....and on the tires. I already knew that. Tell me something I don't know. :)

HLSR Cook-Off this weekend?

redcagepatrol
02-23-2007, 03:14 PM
yes - I know... But real locks are like $350+ a rim!!!

The ONLY reason that we got the fake locks is to make Lynda happy - she wants them powdercoated "pink", and it is for her...

I figured that if I wanted beadlocks in the future, I would buy the Staun internal ones and still come out ahead - they are only like $160 ea.

redcagepatrol

If someone see's me driving it, my answer is "it's my wifes Jeep, I drive a beater..."

But seriously, it won't be "pink" it will be a really dark pink like rasberry

agjohn02
02-23-2007, 03:31 PM
im referring to the beadlooks. the pink will be easy to explain.

redcagepatrol
02-23-2007, 03:39 PM
she had to have the color on the rims... Wants it to match the cage

Lynda
02-23-2007, 04:12 PM
Don't make me show all yall up on the trail....now I don't want to hear another peep about my pretty pink fake locks. It's a classic touch to a pink cage. Or rasberry...whatever you want to call it.

davido
02-23-2007, 04:30 PM
I'm sure it will rock. So until we see eachother on the trail again... toodles.

What scott will be continiously repeating to himself while driving the wifey poo's jeep...
"It's not pink, it's rasberry,....it's not pink, it's rasberry! FOR THE LOVE OF PETE! IT'S RASBERRY!!!!"

maybe you can get you a set of those bull balls and hang them from the back when you drive it?

Lynda

bull balls....and paint them pink?!

nah...I don't like either of those ideas.

DRAGOONRANCH
02-24-2007, 09:17 PM
I swear they made a pink set, maybe somebody did paint them. No, if he did get caught in a pink jeep and was ever asked if he still had any balls, he could truthfully say his wife hung them under the jeep. :D

agjohn02
02-24-2007, 10:00 PM
lynda, why dont you just take scott's out of your purse and hang them on the rear bumper? :flipoff2:
