Figure I'd start a thread for the bronco. Been doing some work on the motor over the break and have most of it completed, just waiting on pushrods and have to find 2 sanden compressors.

I think he was building a 351. Sure does look like its gonna be a tight fit on the drivers side. Looks cool

Yep, 351w roller stroked to 393 with AFR 185's

It'll be tight near the steering box but should fit fine, that ps bracket is made specifically for Eb's

The rear is chromo 35spline so it should be fine, the transmission is what i'm worried about

have you rebuilt it at all since you started wheeling. I haven't wheeled with you in a while but I do remember it overheating one night in alto and then you figuring out that powersteering fluid didn't work in an auto trans

ahh the alto night, good times and plenty of  ! The stock cooling system is also going in favor of an aluminum radiator and some sore of electric fan (taurus or lincoln). The tranny was actually rebuilt just prior to that night at alto so its got real low miles on it, just not really sure a c4 is up to that much power, guess we'll find out soon enough!

If a C4 is built right it can handle a decent amount of power. Just keep it cool.

From what I've seen a C4 can handle more than most built 700R4s. Do you really need overdrive?

no he is talking about the one i was gonna get and never did, and it was two wheel drive not 4, and it was the big block bolt pattern so he would need an adapter for, the one i sold bdr would work great. yet i guess the 700 will need an adapter as well. i bet the c-6 is also to long for him possibly.

I built 700r4 is about the same price if not cheaper than a built up c4 to handle to same power. Do I need an overdrive, no, but I want one

I'll get some pics later this week when I start putting some of the accessories back on it

What kinda rad and fan are you running? I know these broncos had a problem of running hot to start with. I am gonna try two 10inch fans. I can just make them fit the stock rad with a custom pipe for the lower hose. Just wandering what you had in mind for your setup.

73bronco
04-13-2007, 03:50 PM
jegs aluminum and some sort of electric fan (taurus or lincoln most likely), plus a lower radiator pipe to make the reverse rotation pump work

garret you can come look and measure my lincoln fan if you want, i think it might be a little thicker than the taurus fan.
