stx4wheeler
06-29-2007, 12:10 PM
looking good matt keep up the good work

you might add another l bracket like so that bolts on as well, maybe even put a small triangle gusset on there like i have pictured, to help to not bend the crossmember where it attaches to the unibody.

Sharpe
06-29-2007, 01:22 PM
Look good but methinks this area needs some kind of support. Kevin's idea wouldnt be bad either.

scottsdale87
07-19-2007, 10:40 PM
I got the second crossmember and the rear streched 2" and done. I still need to gusset everything though. RK coil springs are pure beef compared to the stock coils. Now to start on the front.......

looks like a trail boss replacement bumper. got enough room to stick a winch behind there?

Yeah i should have enough room. I don't know when or if I will ever get one though.
I like to let the guy with the winch go first, then he can pull me up.Thus eliminating the need for me to get a winch.:gigem:

Plus I'll be very poor after I get all the other mods I want on the Jeep.:D

scottsdale87
01-30-2008, 10:00 PM
Heavy?

wha???

If your asking if the bumper will be heavy, then yes it will be able to take some abuse. The 4.5" is goin to be 3/16 or 1/4. Whatever we have layin around the house.:gigem:

If your asking if the Jeep is going to be heavy, yes it already is.:flipoff2:

JeepPhisherman

DRAGOONRANCH
03-14-2008, 11:51 PM
We can ramp it in front of the methodist church or at the corner of 77 and main afterwards. I say methodist church, since that is where the chili will be. :D

I will call the chamber next week to find out. Forgot to do it last night.

DRAGOONRANCH

Got a little mo progress with the jeep. I got a full width 9, 31 spline from the junk yard, i completely rebuilt it and added a detroit. moved the spacers to the front, and started on the front bumper. should have the bumper done and painted this weekend.

The best new mod is probably the new name! Sloth Hoss

Sloth cuz its slow and green
Hoss cuz, well its a hoss and some of it is probably overbuilt.

I'd love to go to colorado, but i think i'm gonna be pretty busy workin for pops this summer, and i have to take a couple summer classes online. Plus i don't think the funds will come through on that one.

My cousin is having his batchlor party at glimer the weekend after trees so i'll be lucky just to go to that.

DRAGOONRANCH
04-15-2009, 02:19 AM
I hear that, I remember being the only one having to go home every weekend we didn't have Corps activities and work for Grandad. I had a couple of city boys in the outfit who I suckered into helping me every once in a while. Gma kept em fed well though. :D

scottsdale87
04-27-2009, 10:43 PM
Had a good time at trees. Jeep held up great, good thing cuz i don't have time to fix it befor next weekend at gilmer. Trails were tight, not to friendly for us with lots o glass. got a little body damage on the hatch when it "rubbed" against a tree. My cousin almost flopped his XJ, his tire carrier and tire saved him, and got a little scratch on the same tree i got the damage on. The guy in the green TJ on 33's, john i think was his name, was cool as sh!t and, though he had the smallest tires in our group, crawled up almost everythig.

Some pics..

Harbor freight, chicago electric, 10,000lb. My cousin has the 8,000 on his XJ and it worked pretty good. pulled him and ryan up a hill at trees with no problems. I don't wheel that much so it won't get used that much anyways.
