Going to have a get together out at Scoutfourk (Princeton) on Saturday, the 30th. All day redneckfest: beer, guns, fishing, Brisket/BBQ, Mini motorcycle, fireworks, horseshoes, and anything else we can think of you can't do in the city. I've got an evite set up, pm me your email or post it here if you think you might go and I'll send you the link. It's a pain in the ass to get to, so you'll probably want to google the address before you come out. Everyone is welcome to crash there, but it will be like camping, but in an air conditioned shop.

what time are you getting started? I was thinking about making a trip to the junkyard to get real measurements off an ecotec and a mazda 1.6, but I don't know if we'll have enough time.

I was just daydreaming about my boat I'm never going to get running and I had a brainflash, maybe I pull the engine since we'll have some time to kill. If I did that, I would only have to take the engine over to pop's shop and not the whole boat. hmmmmmm......

There is plenty of concrete, and we're going to leave the shop closed up with the AC on to have a semi bug free zone. Tell her to suck it up. :)

Rain or shine we'll have a party, we've got plenty of rain cover. It's going to be muddy out there though for sure. There is plenty of gravel and concrete to set off fireworks without getting muddy.

In light of the hill country flooding issue where my other option for this weekend received 20" of rain yesterday, I am now definitely in for this.

I suppose you have an air compressor out there?

From my experiences, boat engines pull real quick. We pulled the one in the tige 3 times and it never took more than an hour. Is your boat a straight drive or magical v-drive? The straight drive should be even easier. I saw a really nice boat like yours in Poth last weekend.

What's the deal with this large lake by princeton? Should I bring a blue boat for Sunday?

BMFScout
06-28-2007, 08:31 AM
Lake Lavon is right by Princeton. I haven't fished it recently since my fishing boat moved to Missouri. As of yesterday we have a little air compressor out there. What do you need, just to fill up tires? I'd be up for going out on Sunday, but I don't know if the weather will cooperate. What is your email, I'll send you the address/evite.

BMFScout
06-28-2007, 08:34 AM
I'd say bring something fun to do indoors as a rain contingency plan. Poker, bones, etc...

BMFScout
06-28-2007, 09:15 AM
Remember, I don't have any beds out there, but plenty of floor space. Make sure you bring stuff to sleep on. With this rain, it looks like you'll want clothes/shoes that you don't care much about as well.

I'm gonna need to decide tonight if I'm bringing boat or not as it's about 1.5 hr extra to pick my boat up after work and come back up north. May be best to just leave it here if the lake's been flooding and will have floaters and trash in it. Yea compressor's just to air up a tire.

Guns shoot in the rain too, just need to wash em down with wd40 or such afterwords.

BMFScout
06-28-2007, 01:15 PM
I say leave the boat. It's flood conditions everywhere around here. I know where a bigger tank is we can fish on Sunday if you want.

Anyone want to bring a truck by my office and pick up some pallets to burn? I have enough to make a pretty nice bonfire if the brothers Brune approve.

jerryg79
06-28-2007, 02:16 PM
I would but my truck will be full as it is....depending on how far it is from Scoutfork, we could possibly make a run on Sat, im sure we'll need ice and such anyway.

BMFScout
06-28-2007, 02:21 PM
We approve, just need to figure out how to get over there to get them. I'm busy tonight, and tomorrow night I need to hustle to the grocery store and wal-mart to get stuff. The office is a ways from Scoutfourk. We've got plenty of wood, but it's all wet I'm sure. It would be nice to have some dry stuff to burn.

Fredo
06-28-2007, 02:25 PM
I could hook the red trailer up to the tahoe and we could make a two pronged attack, what I like to call the "Forked Cobra" on the grocery store and the load of pallets in question.

jerryg79

what time is jerry leaving, and why from CS and not houston?

I should be getting into CS around 5, it all depends on when I get out of my final in the morning.

Usually the tests take me 15 minutes, this one is a bit longer so figure 25. That means I leave huntsville at 835ish, puts me at work at 920, get out of work around 2:20ish, that puts me in CS at 3:45-4ish. I'll be leaving straight from work with all me crap loaded tonight....if it stops raining tonight.

Might be catfish in the bigger pond across town, we can try in ours I don't think so though. Little bass hit really good on a white grub with one of those big floppy tails.

The camping stuff, just bring sleeping arrangements, you don't need a tent. It'll be like we're in that homeless shelter that used to be by Brandon's old shop. All we need is some crazy old lady to wander down the street and randomly yell obscenities.

Hell bring a tent if you want, we can make a little Hooverville inside the shop if you need your "alone time"

Meant to post this up awhile back. I was reminded because we're having a bachelor party out there this weekend. If pissing off the neighbors is an indication to a good party, I think it was a success! (Way to go Ed ;) )

From My sister:
Hey, just wanted you to see this email I got. The Friedrich's are really nice people and sometimes a little pickier about things that we might not see as needed...but in order to keep the peace, I suggest filling up the "ruts" (no matter how small) and maybe taking some flowers over to Mrs. Friedrichs and introduce yourselves. It would be a nice peace offering...and they will be really easy to get along with...they don't mind noise and fun....just the usual things that old people get crabby about...yards and flowers.
Love you both...
Lee Ann

From the Old Lady Neighbor: (Written before we apologized and fixed the ruts.)

Hi Lee Ann,
Just a note to answer your question that you had asked sometime ago. How do
we like our new neighbors---well we have never met them yet. Last
evening and last
night we heard what sounded like a motor-cross on motorcycles along with
fireworks.
Now all of that was Ok since it reminded us when we used to keep score
at motorcycle
races. Everyone was having a good time. This morning when Fred was
making his rounds
feeding birds and fish--he discovered six or eight vehicles one of which
was a big pick-up
that had a long trailer -flat bed parked with others. When Fred told me
that when they
had pulled into their driveway someone had to go across the 90% turn at
Dave & Jan's
driveway to make the turn on Bluebird Ln. This was cutting across our
corner going across
a lot of my wild flowers--making deep tracks for quite a distance. No
one stopped to ask permission and if they did make a mess they would
fill up the deep tracks. We wanted
to know if you have any suggestions that --should we talk to them? We
don't even know
their telephone number. Please let us know what you suggest.
I have babied the wild flowers and they were beautiful basket
flowers.
Thinking of you all.
Jeanette & Fred

Seth
07-19-2007, 10:34 AM
So how did the peace offering go?

BMFScout
07-19-2007, 10:42 AM
Fine, I guess. I just smoothed it out the best I could with the tractor and said Sorry. It's not a big deal as far as I'm concerned, just thought the part about the motor-cross was funny coming from an 80+ year old woman. They are really nice old people though, don't want to go to hell for pissing off nice old people.
