Working on this project has been alot nicer since I have a garage now. I have the floor pans replaced and welded up. It was a ton of work to put these guys in I am never doing that again. I need to put down some seam sealer and then coat of the rest of the cab with POR15 and it should be good to go.

Next will be the wiring harness. I have a 4 wheel junky kit. It was about 1/3 cost of a painless kit.

Plumb up the fuel lines from my old bronco and install my 24 gallon tank and she should be running again.

My garage it beginning to look like karls. I need to clean up a bit.

Also the door striker post is a sweet ground clamp.

The sheet metal screws worked great to hold the pans flat while I spot welded them down. I was really surprised I had to give the welder half power to get a decent heat mark showing on the back side. I am using .023 wire so that might be some of it too.

edit: I think it has something to do with all the stickers on the welder.

I finished up sealing the floors with some 3M seam sealer. It better be worth it at 17 bucks a tube. This weekend I should be able to put down the rest of the POR15 on the floor and then start the wiring harness.

Before when I lived in lufkin I had the FI running somewhat. I had problems getting enough voltage while cranking. So sometimes the truck would start and sometimes it would not. The oem wiring harness is pretty shady at best so I hope a new harness will solve this problem.

I still need two 33x12.50x15's.

I would rather stay with 33's.

I am probably gonna bed line the bottom of the doors. I have another set of doors that are in better shape than those. I am gonna make some trail doors outta those.

Don't know if you need body parts, but here are some about 20 mins away from my apt.

My body is pretty straight. I will keep an eye on that add if he comes down in price I might think about it.

I started chopping up the old wiring harness. I am removing alot of stuff most of which is related to the old charging system. It was grounding out on the inner fender which is probably why I could not get a full 12 volts while I was cranking. Plus I found some resistor wire which was not helping either.

You should get a mechanic to look at it! :flipoff2:

I got most of the dash stuff figured out. My main concern was to get everything clear of the underdash a/c system. This weekend I plan to start cutting some wires.

Where you drinking while you did this? I seem to remember a pile that looked like that in Beaumont....

I think that is similar to the first time I ever met Mike. We were putting the carb on Jerry's bronco and supposedly he was the one that knew how to do it. First thing he does is grab a handfull of vaccum lines and yanks them out saying "oh, we don't need all this crap." In the end, everyone else is trying to finish putting the carb back on, and mike is leaning up against the tire drunk as hell and eating axle grease w/ Krebs.

Some things never change huh?:gigem:
