I picked up a 1985 Buick Grand National last Friday. In my typical style it was cheap and crappy. Basically it runs, but had no tires, no rear axle, lots of rust, and was owned by a real a$$bag.

I went to Pick-A-Part on Sunday, which is now called LKO???? I picked up a drop in 10 bolt. I did not notice in the junkyard, but the axle is very, well interesting.

And it runs. Frick and I started around 3:30PM and finished around 8:00PM. Drove it off the trailer and took it around the block twice. The tach is messed up, It starts to build boost and then I think the computer must be leaving the waste gate open due to the RPM or something????

Either way it will burn out....

it was wicked pissah, i now know how god feels when he makes earthquakes after riding in this turd. So now karl has completed the white trash trifecta on the cheap.

the fawking deal is we bought it and loaded it without and axle, then me and karl installed an axle while the car was on the trailer. Now it is in working condition on the cheap really cheap, also we didnt have to bastardize some axle swap like a good portion of off-roaders, it was pretty much bolt in..... :flipoff2:

KrazyKarl02

Yeah, bolt in, just don't look close.... The front lug nutz don't match the rear.... The ratio isn't right..... The driver's side has no "parking brake adjuster"..... The brackets had been re-welded on??? Who fixes a 10 bolt??? and for some reason the inside of the diff had gear ink on it???

But the point is, it bolted in, it runs, it burns rubber!!!!

WOO HOOO!!!!

As was referenced in Cody's Box today, I procured a second form of turbo charged, 4 wheeled, vehicular transport. This was for sale in way south houston (Richmond). It is a 1985 Buick T-Type. For those that don't know, a t-type is basically the same package as a grand national, but not all blacked out.

The guy, who was of hispanic decent, that I purchased the vehicle from had gone through a series of swaps and trades to acquire the car. He was in the process of painting it and gave up on. This one was acquired for less than the grand national.

Here is the basic run down: Very solid body (the other trashonal is a rust king), has a lot of interesting options like 3.42 positrac rear end, power windows, power locks, power sun roof (that works), digital radio, "concert sound" speakers.

The bad: The guy had removed the doors for body work and let the interior get pretty trashed, its all there, just needs either a hell of a cleaning or replacing, the t-type rims are bent to F***, and apparently the fuel pump is out, Frick and I are replacing tonight, so expect pictures of us driving around with no doors!

Here is the back seat with a lot of interior parts, plus the free back pack that came with it. Sorry guys, Frick already called dibs.

In the trunk Frick and I found lots of goodies, our favorite being the pearl dust to mix with pain and orange "flakes" for paint. The previous owner I think had a different paint scheme in mind than I do.....

Here is a picture of the front interior, I think most of it will clean up, but between the 2 cars I should be able to make one good one.

Here are all the assorted tools we found floating in the car. Oh I think we found a knife that is not pictured here.

KrazyKarl02

Much to our dismay, we hoped to find a dead hooker in the trunk, instead we found this.

So now what is the plan,

The original trashonal's body is pretty much toast, however the interior is good.

The T-type has the correct 8.5" 10 bolt positrac axle. These go for ~$800. Remove the remaining interior from teh T-Type. Finish the body work on the T-Type (sanding) and spray some paint on it (no, sorry not the hot flake orange).

Put the best interior pieces in. Sell what is left on ebay.

Go beat the piss out of highschoolers in mustangs. - DONE

KrazyKarl02
03-31-2008, 10:33 PM
Of course some of you will say, that car ain't movin'. Well just ask the Frick cause he was shotgun....

KrazyKarl02
03-31-2008, 10:37 PM
And then some of you will say, man I bet that car is slow, and well at first I was a bit scared it ran like arse. We got it on the street, and by street I mean closed course privately owned of course..... And I gave her some crap, you heard it whur, sputter, back fire to the carbureator, uhh I mean turbo and she cleared out. Initially it was not firing all 8, or should I say it was not even firing on all 6....

Still think its slow, well tell that to this burnin' rubber....

It is with deep regret that I must inform you, the trashonal has been sold.... Who am I kidding there is not a bit of regret. I determined that I would rather work on things like my chevelle, house, boat, etc... Than the trashonal, so I put it on Ebay. Here is how the finances shake out.

Initial investment - $800
Rear Axle - $100
Rims - $200
Diesel moving the tird - $100

Total - $1200

Selling Price - $1550 - Great Success!

The canadian that bought it said he would come back Friday for the T-Type. End of the day I will get my money out plus a few hundred.
