I'm a definite maybe, but the great road trip/hunting trip of '07 is the next weekend to Mizzou. I might just lace up my snake boots and observe, we'll see.

*Edit*- I also just realized that it's a Wylie home game weekend, which means I'm stuck in town until 10:00 or so Friday night. I could still be in Clayton by 1:00 am. :( Anyone coming through Dallas that late or leaving out Saturday morning?

I should be able to make this. That means I need to get some new tranny mounts done ASAP.

I was thinking you were looking at Oct 6th. I'm at a wedding on Nov 3rd. Gives me another 2 months to get the engine in.

We were looking at October 20th but Lynda and I have a family reunion to go to in Houston

Suck. So is anyone going to go again in December?

Fredo

Man, I'd go on this run, but I think Lurch would be the rig to hold everyone back if I were to try to wheel with this group. I need to go ahead and shell the engine so I won't even be tempted to try. :)

Oh, and David, the title says Pre-Run....so I assume some of them are planning on December also..hopefully.

I think that I will part out the Mazda if I can't get the tranny mount problems fixed by the December Clayton run this year. I gave a bracket I started to a fab guy in my building. When that is done I am going to drag that piece of **** up to work and work on it some weekend. If it isn't school it is dove season or something else. All it is serving is to piss me off by taking up garage space and being immobile.

There. I said it.

Have you fixed the broken engine mounts? The engine mounts are what keep the drivetrain from twisting - not the tranny mount...

Didn't know they were broken. I've welded chains to both sides. I think the biggest problem was the modified stock transmission cross member. I think it is able to flex where it was modified, so I need to make something much more rigid.

We had a great time, here is a list of the carnage:
Landon - front R&P, rear R&P tooth fell out of oil drain plug when plug fell out, door dent (enough to break glass with window down)
Rodney - Front R&P, rear driveshaft tube, debeaded tire, truck bed dent, tail lights
Laura / Busa - rear u-joint straps
Cody - nice dent on the driver side
Lynda - a few scraps

EDIT - and I ran out of Coors light and stole some of Laura's beer so Lynda could have one...

back on topic, any issues with the jeep?

redcagepatrol
11-05-2007, 03:43 PM
a few minor problems:
1) my Harbor Freight air hose blew out the first time I tried to use it
2) parking brake needs to be tightened, bracked strengthened
3) still need to move my electric fan switch to the radiator instead of the head (fan is on too much). Also need to install a fan off switch.
4) need to tighten the steering ram jam ruts (it rotated down and dent a fitting on the axle)
5) need to make a mount for the ice cheast

Seth

I could have guessed the ice chest was on the list.

notice the blue paint on the first half of Rodneys scrap (it's from Codys Jeep...)

He wasn't too happy about that :flipoff2: I love that trail - the Green Mamba extension, it's my favorite out there.
