i think i know the answer to my question so i think i am trying to get someone to talk me out of it but anyway. i have a spare detroit sitting around for a d44 that i was considering putting in the front d44 that i am swapping into the red cj5. the cj is now a DD so putting a full locker in the front would be a bad idea right? i have manual hubs and drive slugs, leaning towards the manuals, expecially if i put the detroit in. the cj is spring under with 35" mt's 4.10's in the axles and a standard with 4 to 1 in the dana 300 if that helps anyone with advice. Thanks

if you run the detroit, just use the manual hubs and you wont have a problem

If you have manual hubs you could weld the thing and it wouldn't matter on the street. In fact, if it's a full detroit give it to me, weld it up and go to town.

i run a locker in the front of the jeep DD'ed it for several years w/ no hubs you don't notice in 2wd, now driving around town in front wheel drive because your u-joints in the rear are busted is a differnts story

I am going back to manuals on the cheby and keep the drive slugs for things like comps at TCC and such.
