I've allready put in my request for thursday-monday morning off. Hopefully by then I'll have a trailer and will have put a couple of shake down runs on the 4runner.

BTW, are we still welcome at the hotel there, or will we need to look into alternate places to stay? I never really kept up on what happened last year

Can we bring outsiders? I have a friend in Plano that wants to go maybe and there might be some LA boys if i can convince them to go. Some guys from Gmfullsize.com. I live on GMFS. Would there be an open spot on a trailer to haul his rig? He said that he would pitch in for gas of course.

robertf03
10-20-2007, 12:40 AM
The motels are always full from our group alone so I think most of us would frown on advertising our groups run on other boards, but we have no exclusive rights to be out there. That said, no one would mind if you brought a friend or two w/ rigs along, and bring as many people you want who don't have rigs.

TCC in the spring will be completely open and advertising on other boards is more than encouraged.

OnyxZ71
10-20-2007, 01:58 AM
Ok, sorry bout that. I didnt advertise it I only told a two guys about the trip. The guy that might go works in Plano and has a 2001 Z71 that he tore apart. You guys would have fun wheeling with his truck. It will go anywhere, size is its only disadvantage.

If this is the guy from the scout run in Gilmor last year I don't think he'll be worried about body damage. Something like darketernal as a screen name on pirate. I didn't think he liked us too much.

Either way, I intend to be in for this trip. Trying to get Kurt to bring the TJ but he's worried he won't be able to keep up. Should be a group there that a TJ on 31s with lockers can keep up with yes?

The Ugliest Drug Marketing Scheme Ever

Children's Meth

Checked this on Snopes. It is true.

http://www.snopes.com/horrors/drugs/candymeth.asp

A very scary thing is going on in the schools right. There is a type of crystal meth going around that looks like strawberry pop rocks. It smells like strawberry also and it is being handed out to kids in school yards in AR.

I'm sure it will make its way around the country. Kids are ingesting this thinking it is candy and being rushed off to the ER in dire condition.

It also comes in chocolate, peanut butter, cola, cherry, grape and orange. It looks just like pop rocks.

Please instruct children to not accept candy that looks like this
even from a friend and to take any that they may have to a teache r ,
principal, etc.

Pass this around it could save some family a lot of heartache!

They call it strawberry meth or strawberry quick.

Hell I will be running the FJC with 34"s and A locker and IFS so he should be about equal with me. We can run whatever we can find and watch ya'll kill your rigs at green acres.

If we have a sizable group of moderate rigs I will take them out on the K-Trails and let them run bus line in to Meth Country. Just hope they are packin ;)

Yeah its the Expert Offroad in Plano. They are great, they built some sweet rigs and the guys there are really helpful. The guy who built the truck is Stephen and hes not working there now because he wants to get his education done. So, hes now doing all kinds of projects on the side just because he loves to wrench. His truck has a 4x4 3 speed with a low range of 233:1. Should be crazy.

What a douche. Well the owner up at expert off road is always helping my cousin out and trying to get him involved in wheeling. I'd find a seat for my significant other and not worry about it too much for you.

I'm pretty sure I remember you at clayton last year so you know how it works. Most of the time you can just walk the trail and hop on with someone at a quicker spot.

Actually I wouldn't bring my wife to clayton if I didn't have rig to wheel. She likes the wheeling/scenery aspect of rockcrawling but she hates it when someone breaks down for 2 hours and the standing around talking car crap happens.

To alleviate annoyance in the future, I'm going to get one of those portable DVD players to entertain her. This would be especially useful for clayton because she likes to walk around with the dog when this happens, but I don't trust the woods of clayton...

I'm trying to convince her she doesn't want to go, and she may not be able to get off work anyway, but she had such a good time at TCC, she wants in on the Clayton trip.

If all goes well this weekend though, I may have a seat for her by Clayton time.

And yea, I hoofed it most of the time last year when I was out with Cody, Scott and Lynda, but riding in the back of Juniors MJ on top of spare parts and a tire down some of the quicker sections the next day sucked donkey balls.

I talked to Justin after the meeting last night and if it works out then i think we will be hauling up a camper and staying out there. We are fish with no money. I dont know how to get there though, and i dont want to get lost hauling a trailer.

no they are all piecemeal. Some w/ 2 queens (they call that the cox/ritchey suite), some with a twin and king/queen, i think there is one with just a king or just a queen, and the one i have with a king and a queen. Its probably pretty hard to find all the same size matresses in dumpsters in atoka.

Ok, I reserved an Annex room for Hayley & I. Single King bed (that's high brow for Clayton!), but I am sure we will have some last minute floor space if it's needed. There is ONE ROOM LEFT, so if you need it, reserve it ASAP. She said there is not really another group there, but there are some workers that already reserved rooms, so we probably will have the place mostly to ourselves.

Also, as I mentioned before, I have to be in OKC the whole week prior to the event. I could tow the buggy up & hayley could ride with someone, but I would prefer to find some trailer space and drive the car up (much faster & better gas mileage). So does anyone have an extra seat and trailer spot on the way up, and just a trailer spot on the way back? I'll pitch in for gas.

Is Ed going?

The ratio of number of residents in Clayton to the number of sex offenders is 181 to 1.

bburris
10-29-2007, 11:14 AM
Population (year 2000): 719. Estimated population in July 2006: 722

With such a small population the percentages get skewed easily.

bburris
10-29-2007, 11:21 AM
For example:

According to our research there were 66 registered sex offenders living in Beeville, Texas in early 2007.
The ratio of number of residents in Beeville to the number of sex offenders is 205 to 1.

http://www.city-data.com/city/Beeville-Texas.html

I'm not defending any of those numbers by any means at all, just showing that those ratios make it look worse than it really is, especially considering that 23 of those 66 are incarcerated in any of the three prisons surrounding Beeville.

We can get unlimited palets from the co-op according to ryan so we were thinking of sticking as many as we could in and under our rigs for the trip up there.

Probably worth calling & checking we can actually have fires before you got through the trouble.

I still think an officer needs to actually talk to A&A management about the whole deal. We have gotten better pricing in the past, and there may still be some possibility to swap rooms around with the Sardis and consolidate all of us at the A&A.

last time we were there they said we cant have fires anymore

... i cant remember if we still made one, but the days of danny ray are over

I thought they said that when you went there on the pre-christmas run, and then they said later we could. Regardless, i think pallets might be a little overkill, especially since they burn up in 5 minutes and leave nails everywhere.

Eh, you could just use all of the "reordered" shirts that never sold from last year. ;)

alright, i'll try to get something together tomm. Some canadian in NJ stole $700 from my checking account so I'll be dealing with that, but hopefully I can get it all ironed out in the morning.

I'm going to figure a 1/2lb of meat per person, and I'll figure out how many people have said they are going to be there fri for dinner.

i know everyone is talking about deer meat for the chili, but i can prolly get the majority of the hamburger meat if you can give me a head count and i can figure out how much i need to pick up when i go back home between now and clayton....i can pick up hamburger meat (1 lb packages) that we have at the ranch from calves and such....let me know if yall wanna go that route...

When I priced it out earlier i did it for 25 people. The hamburger meat isnt really that expensive, like 5lbs for $6, so really only a savings of $20. Free is free, but dont go out of your way to do it.

I really wouldnt call it dropping the ball, if yall want shirts come up with a design, pay for them in advance and you shall recieve. We really dont have the money right now to go out and order a bunch of shirts that arent going to get sold and end up in the 218 closet, like we have now.
