92 ford 450 not shifting

above: cable stuck or something. Shifter wont slide in gear selector. More than likely its in the column. Nothing is bound up underneath. Just getting into it so if someone has any quick ideas let me know.

Is there a lockout that you have to step on the brakes for it to shift?

Ok its on P, got to turn the key and crank it but it is still in drive or at least a forward gear, move it back to p and its still in gear. Seems like it is slipping through p-n.

Ok as far as I can tell it wont go into park by shifting underneath, starts in neutral, and goes through all gears. Problemo?

sounds like the shift tube is done.

in the column. ill fix it if you put my water pump on.
