What are the plans for Spring Break?
Sweet.
sounds like TCC is the plan
the board doesn't move that fast, try and keep up ;)
i hope it isnt
maybe nobody wants to wheel with you chadnuts. :flipoff2:
i thought there was talk of some trip to las cruces or hot springs or something?
I think I'm the only one whose talked of hot springs or cruces.
Spring break was just an option we thought of for TCC. No need for anybody to get their panties in a wad yet.
just how far is hot springs, and is it worth the pull? Anyone been there before?
isnt it closed during the weekQuote:

A trip to cruces would be fun, but long and expensive. Hell, I would even be up for another trip to clayton
If I remember right, cruces is between 12 and 22 hours away.
hehe i was one of the 22 hr people... i thought it was 21 though
Hot springs is about 480 miles away, mostly interstate. So about 7.5 hours with one stop for food and fuel.
We could drive up there on friday, wheel all day saturday and sunday. Then make the 4 hour drive to clayton monday for another 2-3 days of wheeling before heading back.
But hot springs has no events planned during our spring break.
The wheelin ranch in nocona is 260 miles from here and then 200 miles from there to clayton. They don't have dates set that far but from reading their forum it seems like they're opened every weekend there's even just a little interest. Seems tamor^ needs to check this place out for us with it being closer to them than gilmer.
Brown town ain't so bad afterall. :flipoff2:
Distance: 593.0 miles Approximate Travel Time: 9 hours 7 mins
That's Cruces, y'all.

but after you factor in food, fuel, oxygen used, heartbeats per minute, rotational mass of your lug nuts, air speed of an african swallow, breakdown of engine oil viscosity per mile dependent on revolutions per minute, amount of lumens produced by headlights to calculate effects on fuel mileage, wear and tear on wheel bearings according to weight displacement per wheel, load vs temperature and it's effect on tire wear...you'll pretty much decide it's too expensive to go.Quote:

i like the hot springs and clayton idea myself.
I emailed Tim at the wheelin ranch about how to get the park opened and his message was pretty much, say you want it opened and it will be.
I really like the idea of going to the Wheeling Ranch
I like the idea of hitting the wheeling ranch. From what I've seen it looks like fun, and it'll be a first for everyone in the club. One question though? Would the wheeling ranch only be open for the weekend, or would they possibly extend the dates a little into the beginning of the week?
The wheeling ranch followed by clayton also sounds like a decent idea. Wheel nocona over the weekend, then head on to clayton sunday night and wheel for a day or so. I know I can get off enough days to cover the nocona thing, but I'll have to see if I can push for enough to do clayton.
Hot springs sounds okay, but seems like a long tow for just 2 days of wheeling.
Robert S, if you're reading this thread, check your PMs. And clean your box out creighton
Where is this Wheeling Ranch?
box douched, The Wheelin Ranch is about hour to hour half north of dallas, check out their website, looks like a neat plane.
yeah, I think its been called a few different names over the years. I've always called it nocona, and before it was the wheeling ranch I think it was owned by AGR
So if we went to the wheeling ranch the first weekend of spring break, who all would be interested in going? I know me, creighton and kopecki have shown interest, but who else would want to go? As for continueing on to clayton, who would want to do that? I think it would be fun, but it may be to much in to little time for me personally, so I may opt out of that.
Here is another idea that I had. What if we talked to the people running the wheeling ranch and see if they would let us stay past sunday? So instead of going on to clayton, we would just stay and wheel at the ranch for a day or so more?
I want to go.
I want to go too! Oh wait...
Eric got me turned onto going to nocona as well, so I'm game, and since its so close to dallas we could get all of the old bastids to go as well
There is an outside chance I may have a vehicle by then so I may be interesed in all or part of the trip.
****, at the rate we're going with firing that fat girl and finishing your training, you still may not be officially working here and therefore capable of going. Honestly, I think we should sit down with john and randy and discuss what should be done on weekends like this. I've had to cover alot of other peoples shifts, so I don't see why someone else (like john) couldn't handle a couple of days worth of night audits every once in a while. That way we could both go on a spring break trip, or maybe even TCCQuote:
