Holy Crap, where did that stuff come from?!?!

I guess you can tell by now that the beast has lost a bit of sheetmetal. After the Katemcy trip I knew that it was just in the way.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...y/DSC00295.jpg
I started by pulling the doors and fenders but got sidetracked and started on the sliders. They needed to be done anyways to get the cab up and level from the rusted out front cab mounts. The sliders are made out of 3x3x1/4" square tubing. The brace from the frame is the same material. I trimmed out the bottom of the door frame and welded up the seam there to help stiffen the cab up some. I didn't tie in the rear of it yet because I want to wait till I start on the cage to figure out how I want to do it.

Once I got it all apart and the sliders finished, I started on relocating the battery box as I wanted to be able to get it running if needed. I had to get the propane mixer and regulator out of the way first, and this gave me a chance to get rid of the sheetmetal screws and actually bolt it on. The frame of the box is 2x2x1/8 angle and 1x1x1/8 angle, the 1x1 is up against the firewall. I bent up a piece of 1/2 round bar that I pulled off of a rotting old square bale feeder (the rod was in good shape, just the tubing was bad) to use as a support and tied it into the firewall w/ another piece of 2x2 angle. I will end up w/ expanded metal for the floor of the box. I am still working on how I want to tie them down, I will probably use a small red ratchet strap for now until I find the right hardware.

I got the front tubing to a point I can wheel w/ atleast. It isn't super fancy but it should serve it's purpose.

save some money and go with the 42degree CV and rebuild that one and make a spare rear driveshaft.

I was trying to check out the pics of the truck but I couldn't take my eyes off you in those sunglasses. I mean DAMN!!! :rainbow:
It looks like Pigpen's cousin if The Beast From the Middle East had a gay cousin. You know th cousin you see at Christmas, but it's understood you don't talk about him the rest of the year.
Nascar on Speed is telling you how to change your wiper blades with nascar endorsed "Nascar performance" wiper blades. I'm not even ****ting you. "It's not as hard as you think!"

There were a few culprits in this, so I am not sure which one was the main one. The fire wall was flexing when the pedal was pushed, so I used a small piece of 3/16th to stiffen it up. I am pretty sure this had the least to do w/ it but what the hell. The push rod on the master had a bend in it also, so while I had the master out i pulled the rod out and straightened it up. Once the master was back in place w/ the plate and straight push rod, I noticed that the alignment was off a bit w/ the clutch pedal. I used a spacer (large mechanical lock nut) on the mounting bolt and it seems to line up pretty good now. I took it for a test spin and finally remembered what a hydroclutch should feel like. :D
I may have mentioned somewhere that I had a problem w/ the steeing wheel also. It looks like I stripped the splines out of the actual mount for the steering wheel. Once I coaxed the steering wheel off of my spare column and mounted it up, everything works like a charm.
Can you fit behind a normal sized wheel? :flipoff2:
I sure can you kawk gobbler. Don't you have a pos to be workin on right now?!?!
Yes he does, and it has tilt now!
Long-haired dirty Meskin > Billavista
I just read Billavistas install of his AtlasIV and I have to say that his fab on the crossmembers was crap. Kudos to you, you Colorado headed, engaged hippie...
