just take him on the leash and hold him on your lap...he's still small enough to fit on your lap. IMO: I think kennels make a dog extra hyper to the point that the dog becomes annoying when it is turned loose.

im not going home before i go to clayton and i have no where to leave her here. ill probably take her out on the trail since i dont have a trail seat and therefore can spend more time tending to her.
That's because you have labs.Quote:

It's not like there's much difference in laying in a kennel vs. laying on the hotel floor. He's not high energy so there will be no hyper. It's all in the training anyway.
That really eats it Scott. Let's go back to 12-11-2007, 10:07 PM, I like that post better. You guys should come and hang out anyway. Whitney would probably be interested in hanging out with Lynda and Jake while we wheel. :)
my suggestion/solution would be this:
1. Dog rides in kennel in klogger to and from clayton (this solution worked fine for krebs' dog as we didnt want to deal with the dog in the cab of the truck with one less person than we have now)
2. Dog stays in kennel in hotel room (being as the dog doesnt have any shots and none of us here are veterinarians, god knows what the dog could pick up by eating animal crap and drinking creek water on the trail, I'm not sure i'd even let him play with the other dogs, as im sure some other tamor dogs have as much maintenance as the red rocket did)
The dogs in kennel discussion has been debated already....that being said i have a dog door and when i come home my dog is sleeping in his kennel. I stayed home from work the other friday when i dont have class, he slept on the couch or in his cage the whole day, didnt drink any water and went outside once to pee right before i would have normally gotten home
Do all of you have dogs that need to be in a kennel if someone isn't home?
no, hence the dog door, i should have stated it differentlyQuote:

Man, that sucks your not going. just leave the kid and the baby at home! :flipoff2:
Have BDR grab your truck and rigs abd bring them up anyways. We will wheel them for you, promptly break them, and then give them back. :D
Hell ya, I'd wheel the patrol for ya! Not the pink jeep though......I don't have enough insurance. :flipoff2:

Our dog is never in a kennel anymore. He did stay in a kennel durring the day until he was probably 1.5 years old.
Boo Scott! I second that you guys should come anyway, just switch off babysitting at the hotel and wheeling. Hayley is going to be bummed, she was looking forward to hanging with linda & the baby as well.
So our plan is to arrive in clayton Friday around noon or 1, be on trails by 1 or 2. Does anyone know what they are wheeling Friday Afternoon? My suggestion is stuff close to town (Waterfall? - that has many bypasses and is easy to catch up by going up the main trail). CB Channel 12!
p.s. Is the leaving/arriving list final?
i'm not updating it anymore if that's what you're asking :flipoff2:Quote:

This totally sucks and it's historically my favorite trip of the year, but the logistics just aren't working out. Think of someone wiping your butt with ice cubes in near freezing weather...that would be his diaper changes. :(
Jimmy pays a girl in downtown Dallas to do that every WednesdayQuote:

Did they take the TV's out of the rooms of the AA? There has been a TV in every room I've ever stayed in up there.
In other news, I'll give a bright shiney nickel to anyone who knows what a "reaction sun gear shell" is and why it would really piss me off today!
THAT NICKEL IS MINE!!! I know, I know!!! :flipoff2:Quote:

yeah, it's still working, but had problems in reverse and made a really weird noise while in first. Shut it off, fired it back up and it's acting normal, but I'm not going to trust it all the way to Clayton with a trailer behind it. Looks like the Tahoe will be sitting this one out. Oh, and I've already read about "the beast". ***. I just hope this isn't a sign of things to come this weekend.
How about a laptop DVD player? I'll donate mine. I don't think you'd have to hang in the hotel all day, but you would have to trade out with Scott and do short trips.Quote:

I'm out of here. See yall on the beach. :D
You could get some Christmas shopping done in nearby Antlers, OK. They are supposed to have a nice little downtown! :)
Oddly enough, mine has been slipping at stop lights lately. It's at just over 50k, so I guess I'll change the fluid and filter since mr. strep throat gave me a 4-day weekend.Quote:

I seem to remember having a conversation with Scott about how you guys would not make a second trip in so many months. How did that one go again Scott?
Slipping off the line. I'm hoping that changing fluids will make a difference...Quote:

Like that crept up on you and you had to cancel last minute. I think you just wanted to keep your mangina warm.Quote:
