Care to tell us all the plan? Is it a lift and 35's with a sound system? Or is it more complicated like putting tank treads on it?
no tank tracks yet, just 35"s 4.10s and rear e-locker
the upgraded cv shafts should get here today. Not longfields, something like RM or MC, I don't remember. Supposed to be kick ass.
dream hike school mobile to go with the sound system?

Nice
is the lack of a tone ring going to be a problem?
no, thats just for ABS, and that was disabled a long time ago. Still uses a regular VSS on the transfercase
Took the spindles and swivels to Automotive Machine & Supply this morning, picked them up at lunch. They bored out the spindles and removed the old thrust bearing to make room for the new bushing that is now pressed in

Tuneage to be installed with new aux hookup

junkyard scum who is probably a taliban member lied about having an e-locker, so I picked up a regular open v6 4.10 from the 4 runner shop to match the fj80 front

Got a set of series 2 flares, they are much bigger.
Peeling the old 3m stuff off the flares sucks and I only got 1 finished before the rain started back up.

Are you going to have to trim the rocker guard at all?
oh yeah
Are those the ones that you made or the ones that came on the rover from the previous owner? I get confused with the two black rovers.
Looks great.
made those. the store bought stuff is on the red one now
I've got to pull the flanges to get them machined to rover driveshaft pattern so I ordered 2 of these. http://www.trail-gear.com/solid-pinion-spacer
Good idea. I went with the solid pinion spacer when I built the 9" third. I hate crush sleeves.
I'm thinking 4.56 instead of 4.10.
Is Precision the best you can get for Toyotas?
finished the rear axle today and got the tires bolted on instead of leaning in the wheel arches.

flange mods that I'll either have the same shop that did the spindles do, or I'll try to convince someone that these are dreamliner parts.
http://www.flemcodesign.com/pics/flange.jpg
I started on the front axle today, but the sleeves in the polyurethane bushings had rusted to the radius arm bolts so the axle had to be removed with those still bolted on. A trip to lowes for some saw blades took care of that

drilled the new diff pattern and welded another pass around the front diff cover that had been leaking.

Waiting on replacement bolts before I can put anymore back together.

nice
Those look really nice! Are they original to a trim package or something aftermarket you found?
Aftermarket. The company that makes them is called exmoor trim. They used to only do defender seats and just started doing discovery manual seats. Most of them in this country have power seats and they don't seem to have the deteriorating problems that the manuals seats do so thats part of the reason it took a month and a half to ship
the base of the seat was replaced with new foam too and the seat suspension diaphragm was replaced, it was like driving a completely different vehicle this morning. Had to adjust the rear view mirror.
nice!
box looks good too. gonna pull the bars ever?
