165 I think.
Hmm, Ed drives a duramax with 165k on the clock, if only I drove say a 2006 duramax crew cab long bed with lets say 145k on the clock, instead of a 99 death 250 that is so load you can not talk on a cell phone in the cab and shuts off when it rains with constant oil leaks, but thats just hypothetical, then maybe I would understand...
I forgot you went to the dark side
He said his transfer case locked up (casting flaw in the t-case) on the highway. He said the torque converter was locked up at the time, so I'm guessingthats how it snapped the crank.
I would think that the torque converter studs would have sheared before the crank would.......
Should find out this morning if its the crank for sure. Went ahead and updated got a smoking deal. The muffler fluid is the only drawback.

I feel kinda nekkid in it though, needs some window dressing. (hint, hint..)
good looking truck Ed
I love the new duallys, looks great!
ed, did you find out if the crank snapped?
I got a free set of towing mirrors for my truck today. Now I can drive around with them extended and pretend I tow heavy **** all the time. All I need is smoked cab lights, a stack and stars on my wheels to fit in in college station.

Nice!
They are pretty sure the cam lobes started coming apart. Still not sure why though. Gonna bring it home and start weighing my options.
A jy motor may be in the cards if I can get some skrilla saved up. I definitely want to tear this one down to see if its worth rebuilding. A 7.1 stroker dirtymax would be peemp!
No stacking of stacks, painting grills or poser cab lights, just doing work like a boss :flipoff2:
Just 11k, averaging 11mpg at 70. Not great, but it will do
edit; Had a tire go out on 35. Went flat and lost the bead. Very scary.
Not bad for a gas 3/4 tonhttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/12/12/09/a7a5y7a9.jpg
New truck?
Ya I got the sup's truck
I've been looking for those on the used market, not many there and the ones I do see are priced close to the diesels. I've never owned a gas powered truck, but my next one may be.
They also like to be white, I have to have something that looks like I'm not the oil field.
Anybody ever heard anything good or bad about Lubriguard diesel oil? We sell it at work and it's pretty cheap after my discount.
7.3 owners with aftermarket exhaust. Muffler or no muffler?
No muffler, but be prepared to hear the "picket fence" sound
If you are referring to Turbo surge, my truck already does it occasionally. if it's bad enough with a tuner and exhaust, then I'll look into a compressor wheel or something to fix it.
I'm not sure what it is called, but mine had the sound and I kept the factory wheel. At idle and normal driving there is very little difference between muffler and no muffler
I have no muffler, it gets kind of annoying with the windows down. But in reality, the turbo does most of the muffling.
The sound Travis is referring to I believe is the strange exhaust pulse you hear driving past a solid structure.
As far as turbo surge, I deleted the EBPV and that fixed a lot of it. Now to find that pesky oil drip.
Clarke, what all is involved in deleting the ebpv? new housing and pedestal? I ordered a 4" mbrp exhaust sans muffler.
I took the turbo off and the valve out. You have to drill out the rivets on the butterfly to get the shaft out. Once it's gutted plug the external hole with a pipe plug. Takes an hr to do and 8 hrs to reinstall. Also get a new oring set.
...and get ready to wrestle with the vband clamps for at least one of those hours.
Whose motor is that?
Chet's for a customer.
Sparling do you still have your stock radio from your truck and does it work? Is it a cd/cassette unit? How much you want for it?
It was CD and cassette but it's gone.

and my Tony Wildman tuner should be here in a few weeks.
Wildman tunes are the best, but good luck with the factory hpop keeping up. Mine struggles with the 100hp TS tune and is undriveable with the 140.
yeah, I know mine won't it didn't keep up when Sam let me borrow his tuner on extreme.
