my limited knowledge of rear mains is that you can put a one piece in place of a two piece. i think. so they should have put a one piece in, and if they didnt, you prob could?

On chevies, no. The one piece mains have a little plate that bolts on the back of the block to hold the seal in while on two piecers the seal is retained by the block and rear cap.Quote:

****ty Motor Supply installs a high volume Melling oil pump and supplies a full engine gasket set with every rebuilt motor.
...I hate having collins bros flashbacks.
So the seal design sucks, will the rest of it work cause that's real cheap. That block with all my pro-boss **** on top? Mainly worried about the flywheel maybe?Quote:

Thats super for city motor supply I had a high volume melling oil pump turn one of my 302's into a giant paper weight. After 30,000 clicks.Quote:

I would also suggest you get the 1 piece oil pan gasket. They cost a little more but they dont leak.
If it made "30,000 clicks" that's probably a machining defect. I mean, clicking out of an engine is never good. :flipoff2:Quote:

someone told me that marine engines have been blueprinted and balanced, while cars are not, but i dont know if its true or not. the guy probably just wanted to sound smart
