Does the bank know you're doing this to their Jeep?
It is paid off as of 15 min ago
well since it is now paid off i canceled insurance on it to save some cash. I have been paying $80 a month for it to sit in my garage.
went through two tanks of gas on the welder and am about out of rods. gonna hit up tractor supply before they close for the day. I didnt realize how much welding there actually was to do
oh my...
i wouldnt do a claim on it anyways so what does it matter if I have insurance. I can add it back before a trip if need be
Tate, I wasn't say anything mean or derogatory, was just saying oh my you were paying payments and insurance on a jeep that was sitting un movable in your garage, that sucks... Glad to see you got it paid off and not throwing money at insurance for no reason.
yeah and you're really smart to do it this way instead of buying a salvage or otherwise non-titled jeep to make into a non-street legal buggy. Any project that starts with 3 yrs of payments is way mo betta. I thought you had stopped being retarded somewhere along the line? MIG isn't baller it makes sense when you're welding thin-ass framerails together...don't act like you're too smart to spend money on a nice welder when you're in the middle of cutting up a late-model vehicle
Good stuff Tate. You need to just buy your rods by the keg and be done with it.
Is the guy?.......is the bear?....
tater salad.
Why must this club bash everything. You are not going to scare me off. But I will do what I want
uhhh...yeah, mighta been a little buzzed when I wrote that, but seriously this is dumb. Your jeep's now worth like 5gs less than the sum of its parts
Sounds like almost every other vehicle in this club. Who cares? It's his Jeep to do with as he pleases, this has no real bearing on any of our lives and if it gets parted out or sold in six months none of us will be affected in any way. It's not like this is much different than me cutting the rear suspension off my Jeep six years ago to put leaf springs on it. It was six years old at the time, which just so happens to be the same age this one currently is. I'll concede that mine had been paid off for a couple of years and wasn't in fantastic condition, but it was still ultimately my decision to do something to a second vehicle that wasn't generally thought of as a good idea. It worked for a couple of trips and now it's a permanent fixture holding my garage floor down. Worked out great for everyone! :flipoff2:
whether or not it affects me doesn't have any bearing on it being dumb...anyway I'm out of this, sorry about last night's post...good luck with the heep tate and be sure and post pictures of the ticket after you haul this thing to the scrapyard :flipoff2:
That's what we have been trying to tell the newbies for years that the best idea is to cut up your DD that is reliable and not yet payed for :flipoff2:
Anyways Tate it looks good and I can't wait to see it in Clayton I only wish mine had as nice of a body as yours
ok, i'll compromise. you clean the paint off before you weld over it and I'll ignore the fact that you dont even bother cleaning the welds up before you take a picture.
just because the jeep was not paid off doesnt mean i didnt have the money in the bank to do so. I have had enough cash to pay for this thing from the day I bought it I just chose to keep it liquid
yes
4-link is done. still need brake lines and such but that will come after the front axle is in. I should have the new transfercase this week sometime also. Only have like 11 weeks left and plenty of work to do
disc done, transfercase here. rear tires on
