This weekend was awesome, probably my favorite weekend of wheeling since I got my bronco.
The mini spool really made a difference, and it held up to me wheeling saturday and sunday being easy on it (for the most part) and finally gave on the comp course.
Wheeling with a locker is awesome and I don't know why i havent done it before now. On the street it's really not that different. It was alot easier to take it easy on the drivetrain, I could ease up onto rocks rather than spinning the tires around trying to get in between rocks.
My tie rod got bent on saturday, easy fix with a few hits on a log, held up for the comp course....
Comp Course:
I knew I was probably going to break the mini spool, but I decided to go balls to the wall anyway. When corey came in at 20 minutes I decided to put my winch line in the passenger seat and pull cable as soon as I hit the part everyone spent alot of time on.
I gave her hell and made it up about 100 yards will close to full throttle when my spool gave, I think I could have made it in about 30 minutes if I took my time but I tried to be redass. When I figured the spool was broken, some wires for the engine started to smoke so I shut her down. I think a wire was bare in a spot and grounded itself at an angle. I got winched down and pulled back to camp by jb. Winched on and off the trailer and when I got back to travis' house, it started right up and didn't start a fire. I need to find that bare wire and loom some more.
I got alot of body damage but I had a ton of fun.
I guess now is the time for the 70u swap.
