did they mention how many more warns they sell and if the warranty percentage is in the same range or not?

The fairlead mount doesn't have to be that complicated. 1/4" tabs, no bracing really necessary. Boom, done.
I don't live where my truck is, im in the corps, and i am still in school. I don't have alot of time to go over there. It only took me 5 min to make on the computer.
sharpe, I asked in a separate thread but no one replied as to how to build it. I haven't really looked on other trucks, I don't know how beefy I need it.
bring it to cleburne, my kids need a turd to polish
give me an idea what you want, it might be difficult without a bender. They are about to start 4-linking a model A frame
we take donations
You really don't need much for a fairlead mount. You can see mine here...it's just a piece of 1/4" plate bent to a 90 and the fairlead is bolted to it.

Who's rig is that?
:flipoff2:
I still have it...well, what's left of it.:p
if we could just go back in time and kick ourselves in the junk for suggesting we tear them apart
How 'bout I just come by and kick you in the junk now and call it even... :flipoff2:
bought a piece of 5/16th angle that is 3.5" one side and 5" on the other. Plan on clearancing some for the winch and cable and bolting it to the bumper and fairlead.
Should be done soon, just have to go play with the plasma cutter.
Final one with the materials I have.

All of the force is lateral and vertical for the most part. No pushing or pulling, so the gussets add strength in the wrong direction. It's 5/16ths. Don't see it breaking. Only one way to find out I guess.
I don't know if 5/16" will be thick enough man. Might need to go with 5/8" or 3/4". I think you really need to go back to the drawing board on this and come up with another 7 or 8 designs before deciding.
thanks Fred. That will give me something to do in between classes and Corps ****.
There are no speed holes in it? What a POS....
On a side note, you might want to put a few holes in the center to allow mud to wash out, or put a slot in the front to spray out with a garden hose. I find my winch hides mud.
just cut triangles off the corners, wala! gussets. are you putting the 3.5 up or down?
Got it almost finished today. I put the 3.5 up, and used 2 7/16" grade 8 bolts to attach it to the bumper. Used the bolts that came with the winch to mount the fairlead to the plate.
Looks just like the one I made in inventor. I'm glad I had a plan when I went there, it worked out well.
Sparling helped me make it, just have to grind the plasma slag off of it, get the rust off and paint it. Then bolt it to the bumper and be done.
Your wrong. Better start over!
dude its a fairlead. focus that energy on fixing stuff that sucks.
soo... congrats on getting it done tommy :gigem:
Hahaha
I don't have any complaints about his posts.
I was the "Predicament" for Halloween it was epic!!
