[QUOTE=BMFScout]Is Scott installing airbags? If not I bet he'll be fine. QUOTE]
Um...not sure if I want to "Bet" on him being fine. He will be in the back seat until such time as I think he can be in the front seat. But thanks for your unsolicited opinion :D
I hope ya'll don't plan on taking him in the jeep until he is 3+ years old..you can give a kid brain damage by shaking him...God knows what would happen in a leaf sprung short wheelbase jeep in rocks....
Sbs

Started to cover up the hole in the floor this weekend. It's coming out pretty good. The plate that covers the driveshaft will be removable - the top of the "box" will be a piece of bolted in Aluminum.
Looks good, good thought on the bolted aluminum for access.
hmm, i may have to cut a door in my floor.

Not bad...I don't know why I didn't think of that myself :) I'll look into it.

Pulled the cage out so I can finish welding on it.
Started taking everything apart for paint.
I got all of the welding and sanding done on the floor sheet metal. I should be able to get the AL cover done tonight.
progress pics - the AL tranny cover came out pretty good.
the welded up tranny cover and the shifter boots - sorry, I never got a pic of the finished product, it'll have to wait for re-assembly
Rolling chassis
more stuff - the cage removed, ready for me to finish the welding on it.
pics of my new and improved storage area inside the house for stuff that I don't want any paint on.
why no, just a few more
looks great!
Did you end up using a mechanical clutch bellhousing with some kind of aftermarket bracket to mount the slave cylinder? Who's steering arms are you using?
The "flames" (its early) on the aluminum look sweet. grinder?
yep for the bellhousing, I used Parts Mike for the arms. They are the springless style.Quote:

I got the cage, frame, main skid, fuel tank skid, oil pan skid, and a bunch of little stuff to the powder coaters on Friday.
Made a oil pan skid. It mounts to the engine and to the main skid plate via a rubber bushing.
finished the main skid gussets too
I hope to get all of the body work done, and paint it in the next three weeks - before the cage and frame come back - and hopefully before the baby comes...
one more
the powdercoating is done. I'm having them hold onto it till I get the paint done. Hopefully I'll get it painted in the next few days, still a little covering up to do in the garage.
aww man. i was hoping to see pink.
wait, hold up, are you getting the frame coated too?
i think he already had it coated. didn't you get that memo?

We don't plan on putting that Jeep in the situations to where it could possible roll several times down a hill. I only have a lap belt in mine and I one time that I did more than a flop it help me to the seat pretty good. think of all the trails in Clayton and which ones there is a possiblility of rolling continousily down a hill. On most of them you will just lay over and possibly slide a little. Shoulder harnesses have there places and they will be used then - most people don't use them correctly anyways...
EDIT: being able to move your shoulders and head will help you see better to avoid rollovers - and the prevention of rolling is preffered to rolling
Scott did you use zolatone again?Quote:

I like the way Andy wheels. Lap belts until he knows its about to get hairy, then the harnesses go on.
The frame was powdercoated black, not pink. Thought it would look bad with too many scrapes and future welding on top of it not being something you can easily take off and get re-powdercoated...much easier to touch up black with spray paint without it looking bad.Quote:
