my welds sucked so Charlie our top fabricator showed me how to do it
this is where i started to box the frame between the engine crossmember and the transmission crossmember... had to come back to cs because kingsley pulled her cast off again
When are you people ever going to learn to put the tubing weld seam inside so you don't see it??? It's all in the details:flipoff2:
one more thing, is that a turbo behind the plasma cutter or a water pump?
this isnt really related but remember my suburban... well we sold it to one of the africans that works for us... it is now lifted and has screans in it
i dont know what that was... i dont think it is off a truck though... i think it might be something off one of the tanks... this is a fertilizer plant that i used the shop atQuote:

looks good tate. That should keep the steering box happy.
One suggestion though, I'd fish mouth those box plates up front so that there is a little give to them when the frame does inevitably flex. It'll have a little more give that way and won't start ripping apart the weld.
im not sure what you mean by fish mouth... but the front where the two meet up are welded together... the pic is before it was finished
i mean cut a half circle out of the edge from top to bottom so the plate can twist. It probably won't twist much with the box tubing up front, but if it does it'll start to rip the corner of those welds right off of there.
Thats what happens to alot of CJ5's that box there frames that way
i think i know what you are talking about now... i might do that... we'll see what happens.
i finished the front spring hangers and have been fighting the rivets in the frame of the parts truck for the rear hangers. I torched the heads off really good and have beat the crap out of them but only succeded in knocking out like 2 of the 12... i think i need a bigger hammer or a bigger person to swing that hammer
does anyone have an air hammer... that would work perfect if someone did
I'll bring my cheap CH one over. You gonna be there for a few hours? I need to pick up that jack anyway
After torching the rivets grind em flat or even a little into the surface with a grinder. Helps some, but still a *****.
several are torched into the hole some... i hit it with an air hammer and nothing... i dont know what the hell is holding these bastards in... i might have to torch the back side too... damn the man
well i am home from work and am about to get to work on the bronco... all are welcome to come by and drink free keg beer... if you wanted anything from the parts truck today would be a good day to come and get them
