it sticks out that way because that is where the fender was. I plan on building some tube ones eventually and that space will be covered again

the rear axle had a wine so I added 3 quarts of gear oil in it and it is quite now. Guess I forgot to add fluid years ago when we set up the gears.
I got insurance on it Friday and plan on going and registering it today sometime

So it turns out that I some how ended up with the wrong detroit for the gears or vice versa. I ordered this stuff like 7 years ago so I can't do much but trade them now. I got a Detroit designed for the 5.13 gearset. I somehow ordered the 5.13 "thick" gears that are designed for the 4.10 carrier. So I need to find someone with a detroit that is about to go to lower gears and wants to trade.

I got the correct gears ordered now. I got the g2 heat treated gears. They will be in tomorrow. Hopefully I will have time to take the jeep out to my gear guy soon.
Gears are set and jeep is mostly put back together. I can't find my full cicle axle shaft clips so I need to order some. Also I put the wrong yoke on it. I put the 1310 one on. I can't find my 1350 one so I need to order one. So other than those two small things the jeep is ready.
I played around with the jeep today. Almost wrecked it doing a 5000 redline shift into 3rd gear burnout turn. When finishing up I blew the same Hydrolic hose again. I quickly repaired it and spun it around to pull into the garage. FAIL. I ran out of fuel in the middle of the road sideways. I only had a half gallon and that wouldn't start it. I had to put the dodge in the yard to anchor the winch and then directly next to the neighbors suburban to anchor the winch again. I also had to keep turning the engine over to get it steering in the correct direction. Now it sits in the street until I go and get fuel for it sometime next week when I am back in town.
Cool story I know. Just venting.

Turns out I wasn't out of gas. Whenever I busted the hydro hose it must have sprayed something it shouldn't have. I put 5 gallons of fuel in and nothing. I shook all the wires that got wet and now the fuel gauge kicked back on I'm still not getting spark though. As soon as I get a chance I am going to try and start it with starter fluid to see if it is just not getting fuel.
On a side note I ordered a 1350 yoke for the 60 so that will be ready to go Tuesday when it gets here.
No fuses out. Check engine light is on but it isn't throwing any codes. Battery keeps dying. I am thinking it needs to charge longer before it reads anything.
It gets no fire on it's own. Fires first turn with starter fluid. Runs like a champ after started. What could it be?
Did you let Brian Colman drive it? He's good at ****ing up jeep engines.
On a ferd there is a wire that goes from the "starter" wire to the computer that retards timing during startup. How does this work on a new heep?

I finally got my 1350 yoke in. Now the jeep is finally 4wd again. I still have to use starter fluid to fire it up but I am ready to go wheeling.
I plan on going up to Waco to test it out at my ranch 8/7-8/9. It is durring the week but if anyone wants to come out there are a few mild trails out there. My stepdad just bought a 99 tj a few days ago. All I know about it is that it is lifted and has a winch. 4 cylinder also.
Headed to Waco after work today. Testing out the jeep tomorrow. I'll be sure to post some poser shots when I get home.
Got to play with the jeep a little. First night we hit up some of the 4wheeler and ranger trails around the house in china springs. Had about 45 min of fun before my front brakes started to lock up. I pulled the jeep proportioning valve off in the morning and just ran the lines directly into the dodge master. I figured it was doubling the pressure to the lines.
I then went out the the ranch and got another 45 min of wheeling in before it started locking up again. I hit up all the lines I was too scared to take the bronco up back in the day and it just walked up everything. So I then just blead the pressure off the calipers and went out for another run. This time I only got about 30 min in before I lost all gauges and the timing jumped. backfired it back to camp where it died. Battery was dead so I had my brother pull it on with his new TJ.
This whole time I have been using starter fluid to get it going. I guess when that last hydrolic hose blew and soaked everything it must have taken out the computer.
I put it on the charger when I got home and it starts and runs fine (with starter fluid).
I am going to pull the computer and also clean all the wiring that got soaked and see if that fixes the eelectrical problems.
I am at a loss for why the front brakes are locking up.
I didnt get any pics of the better obsticles. just some cell phone shots whenever the jeep was stable enough for me to get out without rolling
Could you have got water in the brake lines? Once they heat up it will turn to steam and cause lock up issues.
I don't see how I would have. It has hardly been rained on since I did the brakes. And I haven't driven it through water.
Does it have the factory wrangler booster and master cylinder, or did you kluge something else on it?
If its kludged, you probably have the wrong pushrod length or pedal geometry and the air valve in the booster isn't closing.
It is a dodge 2500 master. I can pull it off and adjust the rod length then
