No reason to narrow down the search to a 87-91 when you have Sharpeco supplying TBI parts to Flemco for conversion...
Karl Logic - Careful this is the logic that made Hot Pocket sell his pile of Cherokee....
If I were you, I would go to BVORR this weekend and try to ride in as many different people's vehicles as possible. See what you like. I know you are thinking full size, but if you hopped behind the wheel of say a late 80's blazer or bronco/F-150, I think you would find you have trouble seeing over the hood. I'm not saying that to be sexist, but seriously, for me seeing over the hood of the Klogger is a giant pain in the arse.
I would also bet that half of these people might let you drive their rig down the trail, just to see what it feels like. If you want to know what a giant piece of crap with bad brakes, a 6" lift, 37" tires, and crew cab hot glued to it feel likes, well then find me at Shiloh Ridge or Clayton.....
Driving different people's rigs, I think you will find that about 33" tires are as big as you will want to go to start with. Something like a Cherokee is a great start.
I like carbs :flipoff2:
A better question is why start with a piece of ****? There are tons of cute little jeeps and things for sale all over the place for a reasonable price. Don't pull a hot pocket and buy something that will need so much work you end up hating the sport and life in general :gigem:
