In Cruces, made it from San Antonio to here in a little over 8 hours, ran into some snow in west texas
I will try and get some pics up asap...
Busa broke another rear shaft on the second obstacle yesterday... Said he was able to change it out in like 20 minutes with his new disk brake set-up and having the new shaft already set up with the bearing pressed on and everything...
Said it was raining and nasty - I still wish I was out there...
Is Busa still running stock shafts in the rear or are they cromo's?
stock - only running 35's too... Pretty amazing - I have yet to break a rear shaft...
his rear axle isn't bent is it? I remember him once saying something about it possibly being bent. Maybe thats causing some bindage?
he replaced the rear housing before this trip to make sure...Quote:

Work Sucks!
That makes 3 rear shafts.
I am going to get the 4340 rear chromoly shafts and the 30 spline front 4340 chromoly longfields and inner shafts ASAP.
Are you running longs in the front? If so are they the chromoly or just the treated stock ones. I'm wondering how long my longs will hold up. Probably need to get some spares but I have alot of other junk I need to work on first.
Just the treated longs. I have trashed 3 of them.
maybe it's time to upgrade your axles?
if there is a person who needs the 30 spline longs, its you. For the rear maybe talk to the owner of Front range offroad. Supposedly he opened a new business building custom toy axles, and he claims he can build a 35 spline rear yota axle. I know most of his stuff is for his custom built housings, but maybe he can make it work with the stock yota housing. One question on the front though. How are your steering stops looking? Are they crushed in? If so, it could be that your axle is oversteering and binding up the longs. Just an idea. And tell us more about your new disc brake setupQuote:
