Get it. Leave it stock, cut out of the way what you can, weld the rear, and find some 31" or so MTs for it. If you kill it, it's probably worth about $200 in scrap. I think those have a divorce transfer case.

standards are fine, just add some lower gears
Man if this thing is running/driving and only $300, buy it and wheel the piss out of it. If you break it and decide to go further....you can do that. If you break it and decide to junk it, you're only out $300.
