Price range, Daily Driver or not. Those will determine a whole lot. I am with flem/JB type opinion so far though. But thought and secretly hope for the same thing Jimmy said! :)
I have also wheeled and owned fullsizes. For mudding, playing in the sand and going camping they great. When it comes to running trails they stArt to lose some of their appeal. Going up steep inclines you will be very nervous about what is on the otherside because the hoods are so hard to see around or over. Also most trails are not built for the width of a fullsize truck, so eventually get dents in the body no matter what trails you are running.
My personal suggestion would be a jeep Cherokee. Also if this needs to be a daily driver I would stay away from vehicles that are already lifted and have lots of mods. This usually means that they have been beat on by the previous owner. Whatever you decide glad to see you are getting a rig.
I think most of yall are missing the point, she wants something big.
Travis, you are dirty
Where the hell did all of you learn to read?

x5 on price range. This will help to narrow down what you want.
I think a fullsize is a great place to start w/ a rig. If you can learn to drive one down a non-fullsize friendly trail, if you ever drop down to a buggy or heep/yota sized vehicle it is that much more gravy.
oops, sorry for the big picture :p
What do you think of Scouts? I've got a well seasoned one I'll sell you. It has been one of the most reliable rigs in the club.
ed, i'll take two of those things, one for the trails and one to do sweet hikeschool style (or cook style) burn outs in, or to pick up redneck chicks
You know, there seems to be one person missing from this discussion...

add: center diff lock if it doesn't have it, 33" muds, disconnect sway bar, call it done.

Would be a nice full size to start with
Sad enough to say...Travis is completely right. I want something big and VERY different from my Escape(so i'm not sure i'm big on a jeep cherokee or land rover) I want something that is already lifted because i know it's expensive to lift and i don't know how to. I will probably want it to be street legal so i have the option to drive it. I can afford to go a little bit pricier so that I won't get in over my head on repairs. I've been looking around but i have no idea what i should be looking for as far as all the specifics go!! so far i have 1. big 2. lifted 3. flue injected I would love any suggestions (but you may have to explain them to me)
And i'm going to name it the Beast just for you John Brown : D
can we get an actual dollar amount range?
I pulled this out of the trash as a good example of what this thread should not evolve into.

skip the truck, avoid anything full size and ifs so that makes chevy trucks from 88 and on and blazers after 91
I like Zachs K5 blazer! i'm thinking maybe 3k or under for something i'll have to do work to. But if something is built up right and I wont have to do much to it maybe up to 7k or 8k depending if it's "safe" and i won't die trying to drive it
YEESSSSSS haha i'll take it! and run the rest of yall over
